Inside the mirror dimension, the landscape looked like the aftermath of an apocalypse. Broken buildings and shattered concrete stretched in every direction, yet at the center of the devastation sat Dr. Banner. He was cross-legged on a piece of rubble, calmly meditating as if the ruined world around him had nothing to do with him.
When he heard footsteps echoing through the silent space, Banner slowly opened his eyes. His gaze settled on the three men who had just stepped through a glowing portal.
"Although I'm trapped inside the Hulk," Banner said calmly, "I still remember you."
His eyes moved from one face to another.
"You are Batman, the guardian of Gotham. As for you, everyone knows you—Superman from Metropolis."
Finally his gaze rested on Li Jie.
"And you… I remember you were the one who killed both me and the Hulk."
Even while describing his own death, Banner's voice remained steady. Normally he kept his emotions tightly controlled, because strong anger could trigger the Hulk's transformation at any moment.
Li Jie smiled faintly. "You forgot one detail," he said casually. "I also saved you."
Banner nodded slightly as he rose to his feet.
"That's true. You saved me and removed the zombie virus from my body." He adjusted his posture politely before asking, "So… did you come here to release me?"
Superman and Batman both looked toward Li Jie at the same time.
Each of them felt a little disappointed for different reasons.
Superman thought silently, There goes my chance to fight the Hulk.
Batman thought gloomily, I just learned a new song. Looks like I won't get to sing it now.
Li Jie gestured toward the portal.
"After you."
"Thank you."
Banner didn't hesitate. He walked straight through the portal and returned to the real world.
The moment he stepped outside, he looked around curiously before asking, "Um… is there anything to eat?"
He rubbed his stomach awkwardly.
"I'm starving."
"What would you like?" Li Jie asked.
Banner glanced around the lab and shrugged.
"I don't think I can be picky. As long as it fills my stomach, it's fine."
He hesitated before adding hopefully, "If possible… maybe a beer too?"
A few minutes later Li Jie placed a bowl of instant noodles and a chilled bottle of beer in front of him.
While Banner devoured the meal, Li Jie explained the situation with the Mother Box.
After finishing the noodles, Banner personally inspected the Kryptonian spaceship, the restoration fluid, and the Mother Box itself. After a brief examination he rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
"I think I can design a device to control the energy output of the Mother Box," he said. "More specifically, a converter that reduces the energy to a level the human body can tolerate."
He adjusted his glasses as he continued thinking aloud.
"We could even find a substitute power source, which means Superman wouldn't have to activate the Mother Box with electricity every time."
Then he frowned.
"The problem is that if the Mother Box's energy isn't fully released, resurrection won't work."
He pointed toward the restoration fluid.
"And this liquid can't be reused indefinitely."
Banner sighed slightly before concluding, "So theoretically speaking, your resurrection plan shouldn't succeed."
Li Jie had already considered those problems, so he didn't appear too disappointed.
"How many times do you think we can still use this method?" he asked.
Banner thought for a moment.
"I'd need calculations to be certain," he said slowly. "But if we ignore the limits of human endurance… I doubt it could be used more than three times."
Li Jie turned to Batman and Superman.
"Three chances. Who should we revive?"
Both men answered instantly.
"Diana."
They spoke in perfect unison.
Banner looked confused. "Who is Diana?"
"Wonder Woman," Li Jie replied.
Banner blinked.
"And who exactly is Wonder Woman?"
Li Jie considered how to explain.
"You can think of her as a female version of Superman."
He continued describing her abilities. Diana possessed immense strength and speed, along with divine weapons and equipment. Even without heat vision, she was still one of the most powerful warriors alive.
Banner immediately pictured a muscular woman wearing a red cape.
"So… she's invulnerable like Superman?"
That question created an awkward silence.
Although Diana had divine blood, she was not completely immune to weapons. In fact, she could still be injured by bullets.
The logic sounded strange, but similar situations existed elsewhere.
Thor could survive blows from the Hulk, yet ordinary weapons could still harm him under certain circumstances. Power didn't always translate into absolute invulnerability.
Soon the group arrived at an abandoned construction site in Gotham.
Banner looked around the empty area with confusion.
"Batman, you said you locked Diana here," he said slowly. "But I don't see anyone."
Bruce Wayne stared at the ground beneath Banner's feet.
"That might be because you're standing on top of her."
Banner blinked. "You mean… down there?"
Using X-ray vision, Li Jie quickly saw through the thick cement floor. Beneath it lay a steel chamber hidden underground. Inside the reinforced room sat a woman tied up tightly with a golden rope.
Batman had clearly designed the prison specifically for Wonder Woman.
Diana possessed immense strength, so ordinary restraints would never hold her, especially after she became a zombie.
The rope binding her was clearly the Lasso of Truth.
Forged by the god Hephaestus using the golden belt of Gaia, the Lasso of Truth was indestructible. Anyone trapped within it was forced to speak the truth.
It also happened to be Diana's weakness.
Just as kryptonite weakened Superman, the Lasso of Truth could suppress Diana's divine powers.
At the moment, the Diana trapped underground was little different from an ordinary zombie.
But if the lasso were removed, she would immediately regain her power, and the prison wouldn't be able to contain her.
Banner stepped back nervously.
"So… how do we open it?"
"I'll handle it," Superman said.
His eyes glowed red as heat vision blasted downward, melting the cement layer. Soon a ten-meter-deep crater appeared, revealing the steel prison cell below.
With a clean slice of heat vision, Superman cut a one-meter hole through the roof of the cell.
The thick steel plate crashed to the ground.
Inside, Diana Prince sat cross-legged in silence.
Despite being infected for months, she looked pale but didn't emit the foul odor typical of other zombies. Her divine blood seemed to slow the decay.
But the moment the ceiling opened, she suddenly leaped to her feet.
She snarled fiercely at the people above her.
Without hesitation Li Jie tossed ten antitoxin atomizing grenades through the opening. Then he used telekinesis to pull the steel plate back into place, sealing the hole again.
Moments later invisible bubbles began floating upward.
Li Jie's system panel started updating rapidly.
"Wonder Woman's Strength."
"Wonder Woman: Flame of Truth."
"Wonder Woman's Lightning Control."
Wonder Woman possessed far more than physical power. Her divine abilities allowed her to command both fire and lightning.
Thinking about lightning made Li Jie suddenly remember someone else.
Thor.
For a brief moment he wondered whether the two of them might actually be distant relatives.
Soon Diana's body was transferred to the laboratory and immersed in the restoration fluid.
The Mother Box was placed beside her.
Now all that remained was for Superman to release electricity and activate it.
Banner stared at the process with intense fascination. To see everything clearly, he had even put on a pair of glasses.
When the electric current surged into the Mother Box, Diana's eyes suddenly snapped open.
Banner nearly jumped in shock.
"A miracle!" he shouted. "This is incredible!"
Li Jie looked at him calmly. "The same miracle already happened to you."
Banner shook his head immediately.
"No, that's different. Experiencing it yourself is completely different from watching it happen."
At that moment Li Jie's system panel updated again, showing the reward for resurrecting another superhero.
Four hundred thousand gold coins.
A moment later Diana leaped out of the restoration fluid, breathing heavily.
Superman and Batman immediately turned their heads away like gentlemen… then secretly glanced back.
Banner stared openly.
Blood even began dripping from his nose.
Diana ignored them and asked calmly, "Is there somewhere I can take a shower?"
"Yes," Banner said quickly as he stepped forward. Then he froze and turned back awkwardly.
"Where exactly is the bathroom?"
After showering, Diana sat down to a simple meal of instant noodles and beer.
When she finished eating, she wiped her mouth and looked at Li Jie seriously.
"So you believe Loki, Voldemort, or Steppenwolf are planning to infiltrate Amazon and steal the Mother Box?"
Li Jie nodded.
"It's not just a possibility," he said. "They may have already done it."
His expression turned grim.
"I suspect Amazon's situation may be far worse than you think."
Diana frowned deeply.
"You may be right," she admitted. "But I still cannot take you to Amazon."
"Diana, you misunderstood," Banner said with a friendly smile.
"What Jack meant is that you can return there alone first. If the Mother Box is still safe, that's good."
He shrugged slightly.
"But if something goes wrong and you need help, you can contact us later."
Diana nodded.
"You're right, Doctor. I should return immediately."
Then she turned toward Bruce Wayne.
"What about the things I left with you?"
Bruce opened a nearby box.
"Everything is here," he said while listing them one by one.
"The Lasso of Truth. Bow and arrows. The Godslayer sword. Hermes' shoes. Helmet and circlet of champions. Amazon shield. Guardian bracelets."
Diana nodded gratefully.
"Thank you."
She quickly armed herself before turning toward the four men.
"Leave Amazon to me," she said firmly. "I will protect the Mother Box."
Her eyes sharpened.
"You should go to Atlantis and secure the other one."
The ground cracked beneath her feet as she launched into the sky and vanished.
Banner stared upward in amazement.
"Wow. Wonder Woman is really cool."
Li Jie glanced at the cracked floor.
"She loves showing off even more than certain people."
"I think you're talking about yourself," Superman and Batman said simultaneously.
Banner coughed awkwardly.
"Gentlemen, no need to argue over small things. By the way… are we heading to Atlantis next?"
Li Jie shook his head.
"We'll split up. The three of you go to Atlantis."
He turned toward the door.
"I'm going to Amazon."
Banner looked confused. "Do you know where Amazon is?"
Li Jie smiled mysteriously.
"Not yet," he said. "But we will soon."
As he walked outside he added one final instruction.
"Contact me if anything happens. And try not to upset Dr. Banner."
Banner forced a smile. "Honestly, I could just stay in the lab."
On the rooftop Li Jie summoned the Black Dragon mech and launched into the sky.
The helmet's display showed a moving signal.
It was Diana Prince heading toward Amazon.
Before reviving her, Li Jie had secretly implanted a nanotracker in her body.
Far away in the ocean, Amazon Paradise Island remained hidden by a powerful magical barrier. Ships could not see it, and planes flying overhead would pass without noticing anything.
When Diana stepped onto the beach after many years away, she felt nervous.
"Why is nobody here?"
Normally guards patrolled this shoreline, yet now the island was eerily silent.
Suddenly the ground bulged.
A zombie wearing Amazon armor burst out of the sand and lunged toward her.
Diana instantly jumped backward more than ten meters to avoid the attack.
Moments later dozens of zombies began crawling out of the ground, surrounding her completely.
She recognized every one of them.
Former comrades.
But none of them recognized her anymore.
"Bang!"
Diana refused to harm them. Instead she raised her Guardian Bracelets and released a sonic shockwave that blasted the zombies backward.
Then she flew deeper into the island.
As she passed over a forest, arrows suddenly shot out from the trees.
"Stop!"
"That's Diana!"
"Stop shooting!"
Voices shouted urgently.
Diana landed as a group of Amazon warriors rushed out of the forest, led by a middle-aged woman.
"Antiope!" Diana shouted with excitement.
The Amazon general ran forward and embraced her tightly, tears already forming in her eyes.
"Diana. It's so good to see you again."
"I'm glad to see you too," Diana replied warmly. Then her expression turned serious.
"But tell me what happened here."
She looked around the forest.
"Where did everyone else go?"
