Chapter 161: A Colossal Star Like the Sun
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
GOD was being thrashed around, tumbling through the starry sky like a discarded toy. Before He could even stabilize His momentum, another blow would send Him hurtling in a new direction.
King's punches were becoming increasingly violent—so powerful that even a deity was disqualified from mounting a defense. He was reduced to a state of constant, passive suffering.
Meanwhile, inside GOD's mindscape, an arrogant voice heckled Him without a second of rest.
[Weren't you supposed to be a big shot?! Didn't you enjoy stealing my body?! Why are you being beaten like a stray dog now? Answer me, you failure!]
Garou mocked GOD with reckless abandon. As the true owner of the body, his consciousness had fully awakened, allowing him to watch the exterior events in a vivid, third-person perspective.
Seeing GOD getting pummeled into a state of mental disarray by the "God-mode" King made Garou feel incredibly refreshed, even if it was his own physical body taking the hits.
Compared to the King who was currently striking him, Garou held far more hatred for this "God" who had inexplicably hijacked his existence.
[Keep it up! This is the 'good stuff' I wanted to see! King! Don't let me look down on you—kill this idiot quickly!]
"SILENCE!"
GOD was already bordering on a mental collapse from King's fists, and the constant, high-pitched screeching from Garou was driving Him to a white-hot rage.
"You are nothing but a weak, lower-tier lifeform! What right do you have to bark in my presence?!"
Inside the Mental Space.
The twisted, line-drawn entity of GOD roared in fury at the white-haired youth. Garou, however, maintained an attitude of total indifference.
He looked at GOD's rage with pure disdain, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
"And? I'm a loser dog? Then you're the one currently being beaten like a dog by King, the Strongest on Earth. You can only scream in here like a cornered animal. Doesn't that make you the bottom-tier trash?"
Hearing this, GOD's fury peaked.
He raised a hand, and with a surge of Divine Power, the entire consciousness dimension began to tremble violently.
GOD abandoned active control over the physical body outside, letting King strike it at will while He used only His base instincts to maintain a basic shield.
He didn't do this because He had lost His mind to Garou's insults, but because of a deeper tactical necessity.
The biggest issue right now was the two-front war. Externally, King was an unstoppable predator; internally, Garou's soul was a saboteur trying to reclaim the ship.
I can't solve the King problem yet, but surely I can erase a single human soul!
Dozens of Divine Power spikes materialized, blanketing the mindscape as they rained down on Garou.
Garou was startled. He hadn't expected GOD to launch such a decisive and heavy mental strike. He instinctively assumed a combat stance, his hands tracing blue arcs through the void.
Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist!
Even as a mere soul projection, his familiarity with the technique was etched into the very core of his being. He moved by pure instinct.
This was Garou's home turf. Even GOD's Divine Power lost much of its effectiveness here, and the spikes were parried one by one by the Flowing Water technique.
In the dark mental void, the massive, twisted humanoid loomed in the sky like a nightmare, raining down shards of destruction.
Below, the tiny white-haired youth faced the storm with only his fists, holding the line through sheer martial mastery.
Realizing that simple spikes wouldn't break Garou, GOD waved His hand again. From the depths of the soul-scape, a sound like a crashing tsunami erupted.
In the next second, a massive tidal wave of chaotic colors swept forward, charging at Garou like a roaring dragon.
Seeing this, Garou wanted to scream a string of curses.
Are you for real?! This is too much power!
The wave crashed over him. Garou's soul-vessel was torn apart, riddled with holes until white, ghostly bone was visible in several places.
Yet, despite the damage, he didn't fall. He assumed the Water Stream stance once more, his predatory wolf-eyes burning with resilience.
"Come on! I won't lose to a piece of trash like you!"
GOD was shocked.
This guy... his soul's will is incredibly firm and tenacious... A normal soul should have shattered into fragments under that last wave...
Wave after wave of energy washed over him. Garou was like a jagged reef standing in the middle of a storm, enduring the constant battering of the sea but refusing to budge.
Eventually, Garou's soul was reduced to a near-skeletal state. His presence was a mere flicker, yet his gaze remained unshakable.
Because this was a battle of will and thought, Garou wouldn't "die" from physical trauma. He would only perish the moment his will broke and his soul dissipated into light.
Seeing that Garou refused to die, GOD grew desperate.
Why won't you just expire?!
Garou manipulated his skeletal arms, the joints bending slowly as he assumed the stance one more time.
"I told you... a piece of trash who hides in the shadows like a rat... isn't worthy of defeating me!"
He realized that if he kept playing defense, his soul would eventually be ground down into nothingness, no matter how tough he was.
To survive, to achieve his "Absolute Evil," to defeat every hero and become a true monster...
And for...
An image of an old man with silver hair flashed through Garou's mind. A burning desire to live ignited within him.
To pass on the style... and to one day prove to that old man that I was right!!
Unleashing the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist, Garou's soul moved like a ghost, charging straight at the divine entity.
Facing Garou's manic assault, GOD lost the desire to engage in a mental brawl. He allowed the strikes to rain down on His Divine Shield while He withdrew His consciousness back to reality.
He had no choice. His physical body in the real world was about to be beaten to death.
The moment He returned to the vessel, GOD coughed up a fountain of blood. Fresh crimson leaked from every orifice.
He looked down. His body was a mess of craters. The once-intimidating black-and-gold armor was shattered beyond recognition, covered in deep fist-imprints.
Damn it all...
Before He could even process the damage, a fist heavy with absolute Vitality slammed into His face.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!
The vacuum in front of Him exploded. GOD's head was twisted at a sickening angle, the vertebrae in His neck emitting a series of crisp cracks.
He was sent flying again. Looking at the light growing larger and brighter behind Him, His pupils constricted.
Is that the Sun?!
No... it's a massive star similar to the Sun, radiating heat and light!!
GOD hadn't realized that in the short time He was dealing with Garou internally, King had dragged Him across the star system.
Sensing the scorching heat from behind, GOD reached out to grab the space around Him, trying to stabilize His flight.
But in the very next instant, a crimson streak arrived. King grabbed GOD by the head and accelerated toward the fire.
In the vast, silent void of space, two streaks of light plunged directly into the heart of the massive star.
