Chapter 23 - March of War

In the Last Episode...

Ren, Ekai, and Akaio finally obtained another legendary key after defeating its guardian. However, before they could leave the island, a mysterious commander of the W.X.R. Group appeared. His overwhelming strength completely defeated them, forcing Ren to surrender the key. The commander vanished, leaving behind only one message—the W.X.R. Group possessed an army unlike anything they had ever imagined.

---

Present Time

The waves gently carried their ship across the endless ocean.

None of the three companions spoke.

Ren stood at the front of the ship, staring toward the horizon with a cold expression. His hand rested tightly on the hilt of Hasikat.

After several minutes of silence, Ren finally spoke.

"We're taking the key back."

Ekai looked toward him.

"Ren... I want it back too."

"But you saw how easily that commander defeated us."

Ren lowered his head for a moment before nodding.

"...I know."

Ekai crossed his arms.

"Then we need another ally."

Ren turned toward him.

"But who?"

Akaio suddenly smiled.

"I know someone."

Both Ren and Ekai looked at him.

"The leader of the R.U.R. Society."

"He is incredibly strong."

Ren asked quietly,

"Where is he?"

Akaio scratched his head.

"I think..."

"He's training on a small island."

"Let's go."

---

Several days later...

A lonely island appeared before them.

It looked completely ordinary.

Only trees and a few rocky cliffs could be seen.

Akaio jumped off the ship first.

"We're finally here!"

Ekai looked around in confusion.

"Where is this leader?"

"I don't see anyone."

Akaio walked toward a large stone.

Hidden behind it was a small button.

He pressed it.

Click...

The ground suddenly began shaking.

Rumble...

A gigantic stone gate slowly rose from beneath the island.

Ekai's eyes widened.

"You called this..."

"A small island?"

The gate continued opening until an enormous hidden fortress appeared beneath the mountain.

Akaio laughed.

"I forgot to mention that part."

The three entered.

Inside, countless halls stretched into the distance.

Massive pillars supported the ceiling.

Warriors trained across the headquarters.

At the very end of the hall...

A man sat upon a magnificent throne.

He slowly opened his eyes.

"Welcome back..."

"Akaio."

Akaio smiled.

"It's been a long time."

The man calmly looked toward Ren and Ekai.

"You've come because of the Commander of the W.X.R. Group."

Ekai stepped forward.

"...How do you know?"

The man smiled faintly.

"I can read minds."

Silence filled the room.

"I already know why you're here."

"I'll help you."

Ren narrowed his eyes.

"Why?"

The man stood from his throne.

"In the past..."

"The W.X.R. Group destroyed many of my members."

"I owe them a debt."

Akaio smiled.

"I knew you'd help."

Ekai looked at him.

"What's your name?"

The man answered confidently.

"My name..."

"Is Sikuro Yamato."

---

Akaio looked around the headquarters with admiration.

"This place is incredible."

Sikuro smiled.

"This is only part of it."

Ren looked ahead.

"We don't have time."

"We need to move."

Sikuro nodded.

"No need to search."

He raised one hand.

A magical circle appeared beneath everyone's feet.

A brilliant gate slowly formed in front of them.

"Follow me."

Without hesitation, they stepped through.

---

The world on the other side was completely different.

The sky was dark.

Mountains stretched endlessly across the horizon.

The air itself felt heavy.

Ekai looked around.

"What place is this?"

Sikuro answered calmly.

"This..."

"...is the Death World."

The group continued walking.

After only a short distance, Sikuro suddenly raised his hand.

"Stop."

Everyone halted.

"What is it?"

Sikuro looked into the distance.

"They already know we're here."

Ekai looked ahead.

"I only see a few soldiers."

"We can handle a thousand."

Sikuro slowly shook his head.

"Not one thousand."

"Their population numbers in the millions."

Everyone froze.

"...Millions?"

Akaio whispered.

Sikuro nodded.

"And that's only part of their forces."

"Prepare yourselves."

The ground began shaking.

A massive army appeared across the horizon.

Their footsteps echoed like thunder.

The battlefield stretched farther than the eye could see.

Ren slowly drew Hasikat.

Ekai summoned his Guardian.

Akaio gripped his massive war hammer.

Sikuro calmly walked forward.

"The war begins now."

With a single command...

Both sides charged.

The battlefield exploded into motion.

Ekai and his Guardian fought side by side.

His techniques, Hell Fire and Death Trap, burst across the battlefield, forcing back wave after wave of enemy hunters.

Ren moved like a shadow through the chaos.

Hasikat flashed repeatedly as he cut through the enemy ranks with unmatched precision.

Akaio swung his giant war hammer with incredible force, clearing space around his allies and driving back attackers from every direction.

Meanwhile...

Sikuro fought without a weapon.

His martial arts overwhelmed every opponent who approached him.

After throwing one hunter aside, he stretched out his hand.

A dark weapon appeared.

A double-bladed scythe.

The air around it carried a strange poisonous aura.

Sikuro spun the weapon with incredible speed before charging forward once again.

His movements were calm, controlled, and deadly.

Even as the battle continued...

The enemy kept advancing.

Ekai looked across the battlefield.

"There are still too many!"

Sikuro answered without slowing down.

"I know."

"I can't summon my Guardian yet."

"It consumes too much energy."

The fighting became even more intense.

Suddenly...

A brilliant golden light spread across the battlefield.

The entire sky glowed.

Ren and Ekai stopped for a moment.

Akaio stood completely still.

His aura changed.

Hatake had taken control of his body.

The golden energy surged across the battlefield as Hatake effortlessly pushed back the enemy's advance.

For the first time...

The hunters began retreating.

But when the dust settled...

Sikuro looked toward the distant horizon.

"...This isn't over."

Ekai followed his gaze.

Far away...

Another enormous force was approaching.

Even after everything they had done...

Nearly 70,000 enemy hunters still remained.

The true war...

Had only just begun.

To Be Continued...
