The air in the command room of the Kanzaki fortress vibrated with an electric tension that seemed to make the stone walls groan. It was for good reason; the tactical stone map on the central table had just been irreversibly altered.

The mark representing the Iwagakure army on the northern front had been crossed out with a thick stroke of red ink a symbol of absolute collapse.

The Third Kazekage stood perfectly still, his gloved hands resting on the table, observing the map with a cold, analytical gaze. Around him, the true elite of Sunagakure maintained a deathly silence, each processing the implications of the news.

Rasa maintained a severe expression, arms crossed, with gold dust already churning slightly at his feet from the agitation of his chakra.

Pakura had her eyes fixed on the horizon through the window, her presence emanating a dry, suffocating heat.

And in the darkest corner, Sasori remained with an almost inhuman indifference, rhythmically moving his fingers as if weaving an invisible puppet.

"It was a matter of time," the Kazekage finally broke the silence, his voice resonating like metal striking desert sand.

"We knew Konoha would eventually remove Iwa from the board. Their supply lines were too dependent on the Kanabi Bridge. What I did not expect was that the fall of an entire front would be caused, essentially, by a single man."

Daigo, who was sitting in a corner reviewing sealing scrolls, looked up with a calm that drew everyone's attention. With his eyepatch over his right eye and his wild hair flowing over his back, he looked like a war veteran, though everyone knew he was still just a brat.

"He is not 'just any man', Kazekage-sama," Daigo intervened, standing up and walking toward the center of the room with measured steps. His voice was firm, devoid of arrogance but filled with absolute conviction.

"Minato Namikaze is no ordinary ninja. Thanks to his space-time jutsu, he possesses an advantage on the battlefield that no other village has. If he is on the field, he is Sunagakure's primary problem."

"Are you suggesting then we should fear him as Iwa did?" Rasa asked, narrowing his eyes at the response Daigo might give.

"I am suggesting that we take stopping him as a priority," Daigo corrected calmly, refusing to be intimidated. "Iwa lost because they tried to use brute force and numerical superiority against someone who can move to many places in seconds. We will not make that amateur mistake. Kanzaki is not a wooden bridge exposed in a forest; it is now our domain."A cold smile curved Daigo's lips for the first time.

"Kanzaki is no longer just a conquered position. In recent weeks, while you were rejoicing in skirmishes, I have seen to it that this fortress becomes something Konoha will not comprehend until it is too late. Kazekage-sama, allow me to be the one to receive Minato Namikaze."

The Kazekage arched an eyebrow, intrigued. Beside him, Pakura and Rasa exchanged surprised glances. Sasori, from the shadows, stopped moving his chakra threads to pay attention.

"You alone against the Yellow Flash?" the Kazekage asked. "No one has survived a direct encounter with him. Daigo, I understand your strength and intelligence, but do you not think you are overestimating yourself too much?"

"I understand why you think that, but I believe I am the only one with a chance to stall him while the rest of you continue the battle. Surely the Hokage will come, and you will have to face him. The others will be occupied with more ninjas; even Arata will surely have an opponent," Daigo said.

"If things are as you say, then you will have to hold him back as long as you can," the Kazekage said, nodding in understanding.

"How do you plan to stop him, Daigo?" Pakura asked, watching him.

Daigo simply pointed toward the dunes surrounding the fort, which looked harmless under the light of the sunset.

"I have prepared the terrain in such a way that his speed will be his worst enemy," Daigo continued. "I don't need to exceed his quickness if I ensure his movements lack the freedom of an open field. I can stop him... and there is even a possibility of removing him from the board."

"If you fail, Daigo, Kanzaki will fall," Rasa said, sensing that this plan would only work as long as Daigo didn't fall.

"If I fail, retreat to the city or the desert. Do not waste lives on a war you won't be able to win," Daigo replied with a terrifying calm.

"But I will not fail. I believe I have found a weak point in his technique that could work. Trust me I will be your next Kazekage."

Hundreds of kilometers away, in the fields bordering the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind, the ground trembled under a rhythmic and heavy march.

Konoha was not sending a strike unit or a reconnaissance patrol; it was mobilizing an entire nation in arms. The roar of thousands of feet striking the earth in unison created an echo that reached the clouds.

At the head of this sea of green and blue, the figure of Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, wore his red combat armor from the era of the Great Wars. Beside him, the military power of the Leaf was displayed in all its glory, an image that hadn't been seen with such intensity in years.

Kushina Uzumaki walked to his right, her red hair flowing like a cascade of blood and fire under the sun. Her chakra, vast and indomable, vibrated with an intensity that unnerved the younger ninjas; one could feel the power of the Kyūbi stirring beneath her skin, responding to her host's determination.

To the Hokage's left, Minato Namikaze advanced with a gélid seriousness. There was no trace of the kind smile of a teacher; his eyes were those of a predator who had sworn not to let a single millisecond slip through his hands again.

Behind them, the leaders of the most powerful clans coordinated their troops with iron discipline. Fugaku Uchiha led a part of the army. Though his role was primarily strategic for this battle, his presence was a guarantee that no Suna movement would go unnoticed by the Sharingan.

Hiashi Hyūga, impassive and majestic, kept his men in a fan formation, their Byakugan already active in rotation to rip through the veil of any underground ambush Suna might have prepared.

And, of course, the brain of the operation: Shikaku Nara.

The leader of the Nara clan walked alongside his lifelong companions, Inoichi Yamanaka and Choza Akimichi. Shikaku's gaze was lost in an infinite mental map, processing every report the scouts brought him via chakra radio.

"We know this new Suna is not the same as before," Shikaku said, speaking loudly enough for the commanders to hear.

"They've had weeks to turn Kanzaki into a graveyard of traps. My analysis suggests they won't seek an open combat in the forest; they'll want to lure us into their range of action. They will use the terrain as a weapon. My plan is simple: we will not play their game of attrition.

We will use the Hyūga's vision to mark the traps, the Uchiha's firepower to detonate them from a distance, and the Akimichi's brute force to open breaches where they least expect it."

Hiruzen nodded, his gaze fixed on the horizon where the sky was beginning to be tinted by the yellow of the sunset.

"This time there is no room for diplomacy or retreat. Sunagakure has crossed a line by taking Kanzaki and fortifying it as if this soil belonged to them. We are going to show them that the Will of Fire burns brighter than any desert sun."

Minato tightened his fist around the handle of one of his special kunai.

Kushina placed a hand on Minato's shoulder, her warm chakra flowing into him to calm his tension.

"We are going to crush Suna with the power of the Leaf. If they believe they can stop Konoha's advance with simple tricks, it's because they have never felt what happens when the Leaf decides to stop holding back."

The journey lasted three more days. During that time, the tension in the Konoha camp was palpable. Veteran ninjas sharpened their weapons in silence, while medics prepared emergency supplies for what they knew would be a slaughter.

On the final dawn before reaching Kanzaki, Minato met with Hiruzen on a hill overlooking the valley.

"Hokage-sama," Minato said, observing the black clouds of Iron Sand beginning to form over the fortress in the distance. "I can feel massive chakra in Kanzaki."

"I know, Minato. This will be a battle that the winner will carry into the history of the shinobi world," Hiruzen replied, exhaling smoke from his pipe. "It may be that many of us fall here, but I want everyone to know they gave their hope to the youth who will raise Konoha back up."

"I know," Minato replied, and for the first time in days, a small, sharp smile appeared on his face. "Don't worry, Hokage-sama. Konoha will win."

Finally, the Konoha army stopped one kilometer from the walls of Kanzaki. The fortress rose like a sandstone colossus, surrounded by sands that did not exist before, which seemed to vibrate under an unnatural heat.

Not a single Suna ninja could be seen patrolling the outer walls. There were no war cries, no signs of panic. It was a ghost city protected by an invisible network of silent death.

At the top of Kanzaki's central tower, Daigo watched through a long-range telescope. He saw the green tide of thousands of Konoha ninjas stop in perfect formation. He saw the fire banner waving defiantly. He saw Hiruzen, Kushina, and Minato at the front.

"They are here," Daigo murmured to himself, adjusting his gloves with a peace that no one bother him.

Beside him, the Third Kazekage began to rise, surrounded by tons of Iron Sand that darkened the sky like an apocalyptic storm. Rasa, Pakura, and Sasori took their final positions on the flanks, each a legend in their own right, ready to unleash their most devastating jutsus.

"Do we give the order to start the long-range bombardment?" Rasa asked, his gold dust shining with a threatening light.

"No," Daigo responded, his voice calm, almost soft, but loaded with a lethal threat.

"Let them take the first step. Konoha's hunger for victory and their haste to avenge their fallen will be their undoing. As soon as the first ninja sets foot inside the defense radius, we can attack properly."

The board was set. The pieces were in position. Total war the battle that would define the fate of the Ninja Nations for decades was just a heartbeat away.

Konoha brought the fire of the sun; Suna waited with the silent death of the sand.
