He stepped fully onto the terrace, moving with like someone that was very comfortable with chaos. "Cousin, you should have SEEN it. This man, absolutely vile creature, grabbed her. And she—" He demonstrated with entirely too much enthusiasm. "—just LEVELED him. One kick. Down he went like a sack of potatoes."
Cassian's mouth opened. Closed. Opened again. "You.….you actually..."
"It was self-defense!" I protested. "He was a slave master who wanted to—" I stopped, face going even redder. "He was awful. And he grabbed me. So I.…..kicked him."
"Where?" Cassian asked, his voice strangled.
"The lower city. Bram's inn, specifically." Kieran was enjoying this far too much.
"I—" Cassian seemed to be processing this information. His purple eyes darted between me and Kieran, expression cycling through shock, concern and amusement.
Then he started laughing.
"Of COURSE you did," he managed between laughs. "Of course you kicked him. That's.….that's actually perfect."
