With It finally off the creature. The creature stood up quickly with its newfound freedom, panting heavily.
"Huff… huff… ain't so tough. Are ya? Had me all scared and shit…" It heard the creature say. Now understanding the words the creature was saying.
But at the moment, It couldn't respond despite knowing how to. The way it was now, It couldn't vocalize its thoughts. Only able to vocalize garbled screams through its flesh.
It couldn't see the creature, but It now knew what the creature looked like.
…
And It wished to be like one of them. It felt that it's what it was supposed to be. Whatever this creature was. Not what It was currently.
On the spot, something happened that made the creature go still from attacking It.
Rooted to where it was standing. The creature watched in horror as the mass of flesh started to shift into something else.
First the mass decreased in size, starting to shape itself into something similar to the creature. But in a way that seemed unnatural.
The eyes that formed from It made the creature's head hurt immensely. The swirling of colors it saw made the creature puke on the spot.
Whilst the creature was throwing up whatever it had eaten that cycle. Its form kept reshaping itself into an incomplete form of what It had copied from the creature. Only knowing that what it was currently doing felt right.
That It felt this was what it was supposed to be.
The first moment It could see through its eyes It immediately shielded them, overloaded with visual stimuli for being able to see for the first time.
Attempting to adjust to the new found vision, It slowly opened its eyes and looked up. Curious on what the warm feeling hitting It earlier was.
What It saw was light. Coming in through a hole in the ceiling of the box they were in.
Despite the wounds It had, It could only look up in amazement. Being able to see something so beautiful for the first time.
…
But it had to end.
"Cough, cough… what the fuck?! W-what even are you?!" The creature unsteadily stood up, wiping their face from the vomit.
It looked back down at the creature, now able to see what it looked like.
A creature standing on 2 legs with dark blue skin. On its face stuck out 6 crimson red gills. And its deep pitch dark eyes surrounded by pure red.
With Its amazement coming to an end it instinctly raised its paw to its side, pressing down on a wound inflicted by the creature earlier.
Knowing it could now, It attempted to respond.
"I-i sory" It weakly said, unfamiliar with vocalizing its thoughts.
But despite It quietly saying this, the creature still covered its ears. As if it heard the loudest sound it's heard before.
"ggraaHHHHHH" Not able to take it anymore, the creature instantly bolted toward It.
Not prepared without even realizing it, It felt a sudden dull impact against its head before falling to the ground.
Not able to process what was happening, It flipped on its back only to look up at the ceiling. Tears welling up in Its eyes.
Not able to understand why It was in so much pain.
Instantly after It felt an impact land on top of it, the creature now straddling it.
Before It could say anything.
*THWACK
Another heavy dull impact went across Its head, the pain swelling even further.
*THWACK
The pain increased.
*THWACK
It didn't understand that the creature on top of it was currently pummeling it to death.
All It knew was that it was dying and in so much pain.
But for some reason… It never fought back.
All It could say was…
"I-i sory-

"So-
*THWACK
Its vision started to blur, only able to see a blurry vision of the creature mixed with Its own blood. Tears spilling from Its eyes. It only kept trying to repeat the same sentence.
It didn't struggle against the creature's continuous punches. Only apologizing.
At a point, Its face was unrecognizable, but somehow still alive, barely breathing. In its blurred vision It saw the creature, the hole in the ceiling, and the warm light hitting the both of them.
With one last attempt, It apologized one last time.
"I… i soryy…" It choked out amidst the blood and tears.
"Huff… huff… I don't know what the fuck your saying, and I don't care" The creature said back, reaching for something nearby.
In Its blurred vision, It saw the creature raise a big piece of debris above its ahead with both paws.
"JUST FUCKING DIE ALREADY YOU MONSTER!" With these final words screamed out the creature slammed the debris towards Its vision.
The moment the debris reached Its face…
…
…
...
Darkness… all It saw was darkness…
…
…
…
All It saw was darkness. Knowing full well what It was. A monster-
"Inv?"
Hearing his name suddenly called, Inv snapped his head towards the voice.
In the darkness surrounding him, with nothing else in sight. All he saw was a small pink slugcat.
…
"Uhh… Inv, you alright? I know this is pretty strange all of a sudden but don't worry! Nothing bad is going on I swea-
Inv's hearing silenced while the pink slugcat kept talking. Inv could only look at the slugcat, seeing the slugcat showed no fear towards him. None at all.
The Slugcat happily looked at Inv. not in fear.
In Inv's vision, he was reminded of the warm light he had once experienced. Not sure why he felt this way while looking at the slugcat.
…
He wished to be closer to that light.
Slowly, Inv started moving towards the slugcat in the darkness. Not even noticing he was actually floating towards the slugcat. The pink slugcat noticed this and started saying something. But Inv couldn't hear the slugcat. Only wishing to be closer to the warm feeling.
He wished to be closer.
…
And in surprise… his wish was granted. Not moving away, the pink slugcat waited for Inv to arrive… and hugged him.
…
Inv felt warmth he had never felt before. The warmth that radiated from the slu- no… Joey. the warmth that radiated from his partner. Inv held Joey closely. Not wanting this warmth to ever leave him.
…
…
…
And It never wanted to let go.
