Chapter 226 Heading to Vanaheim
The battleground was Vanaheim, Hogan's homeland. Phineas had heard stories about his hometown from him, such as the presence of many other non-human races besides the Vanir gods. It was
also very dangerous, so some tribes in his hometown maintained a nomadic lifestyle.
Even without the rebellion, Asgard often sent warriors there to help the civilians deal with dangerous races.
Phineas didn't hesitate for long, as Thor was about to depart, so he ultimately decided to go with him.
Going along might provide valuable experience, and he could always reread the books later, but missing the rebellion meant missing another opportunity.
So, he found Thor, who was fully prepared, and told him about his desire to go with him.
"No!"
Surprisingly, Thor refused his request, saying, "Asgard has never had a precedent of letting guests serve as soldiers. My father won't agree."
"I don't mind!"
Phineas looked at Thor and said, "Besides, I was originally planning to go to Vanaheim anyway."
But Thor still disagreed with letting him go with him, shaking his head and refusing again, "Then Heimdall can take you to a safe place, or you can go after we've quelled the rebellion."
Phineas had a bit of a headache, and after looking at Thor, he simply provoked him, "Haven't you always wanted to beat me? How about we go over and have a contest, see who takes down more enemies, who quells the war first, and that's the winner, how about it?"
During this time, the two sparred a few more times, but not as intensely as before, and Thor never activated his electric eye mode again, so he never won.
However, Thor had learned his lesson. If he couldn't win, he would try to outlast Phineas. Several times, he stubbornly defended for hours, refusing to admit defeat, forcing Phineas to settle for a draw.
Hearing this, Thor immediately showed interest, but recalling his past rampage in Jotunheim with his friends and Loki, he hesitated and asked, "Why do you insist on coming along? This has nothing to do with you, does it?"
Phineas, of course, couldn't say it was to kill enemies and gain experience, so he found a more respectable reason.
"Since they can wage war in Vanaheim, they could do it on Earth too. So I hope to learn about the enemy first, so we won't be completely clueless like we were with the Chitauri last time."
Thor's expression turned serious as he said, "Heimdall will see it, and Asgard won't let that happen!"
"I don't like entrusting my safety to others!"
Phineas shook his head and looked at Thor, saying, "Let me go help you. I promise to follow your orders!"
Phineas had heard a lot about Thor's battles from the Warriors Three during this time, so he had a certain understanding of Thor's command talent, which suited his style well. In short, it was all about going all out
!
Seeing Phineas's expression, Thor hesitated and said tentatively, "But Father won't agree."
"It's alright, I'll sneak over with you first, and I'll explain to His Majesty Odin when I get back!"
Phineas wasn't worried about what Odin would do to him. He had also sensed that Odin seemed to want to keep him around, so he had been treated to the best food and drink during this time.
Phineas harbored a deep-seated fear of Odin, not only for his power but also for his wisdom.
He had carefully recalled the events of his past life, and one thing puzzled him greatly.
When Odin was near death, why did he choose to come to Earth? Loki was certainly a factor, but after Doctor Strange rescued him, why didn't he leave?
Phineas didn't believe he was afraid of Loki or lacked the power to leave; he felt Odin deliberately remained on Earth.
He knew that after his death, Hela would immediately break free of her seal and escape, bringing disaster to Asgard if she returned.
Therefore, he stayed on Earth, intending to use Earth to deal with Hela. Phineas even suspected that Hela's presence on Earth was a result of Odin's deliberate act of releasing her.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as he expected. Doctor Strange ignored the matter, and coincidentally, Heimdall, the gatekeeper, was also replaced.
Ultimately, this led to the destruction of Asgard.
Because of this, Phineas was extremely wary of Odin. Whatever Odin's reasons for being so friendly, there must be an ulterior motive.
"Heimdall won't agree either!"
The most convenient mode of transportation in Asgard was the Rainbow Bridge, and Heimdall was like the ticket seller; anyone wanting to ride had to ask his opinion.
"It's alright, leave it to me!"
Phineas shook his head dismissively. He might not be able to persuade others, but he was confident he could convince Heimdall.
Seeing Phineas's confident expression, Thor finally nodded helplessly and said, "Alright, but you must follow the arrangements. Also, if Heimdall disagrees, there's nothing I can do."
"Okay!"
Phineas readily agreed.
Because the army was still preparing, he went ahead with Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three to the Rainbow Bridge. Upon seeing Heimdall, he stared expressionlessly at Phineas and said,
"I won't agree!"
"When I return, I'll come with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon to spend a whole day with you!"
"Two days!"
"Deal!"
Thor, the Warriors Three, and Sif stared blankly at Phineas and Heimdall, who had reached an agreement so easily, unable to react for a moment.
"What's wrong?"
Seeing Thor and the others' stunned expressions, Heimdall turned and asked.
Thor snapped out of his daze, looked at Phineas beside him, and asked Heimdall with some concern, "Is this really okay?"
"It's fine."
Heimdall glanced at Phineas. He was one of the few who sensed Odin's thoughts, which was why he dared to agree to Phineas's request. Otherwise, even if he loved the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, he wouldn't have dared to agree so easily.
"The battle over there is fierce, you should hurry over!"
Heimdall said seriously. Part of his reason for agreeing to Finney's request was Finney's powerful strength, which would allow him to resolve the rebellion more quickly.
Hearing Heimdall's words, the group stopped worrying about Finney. Hogan, his face filled with deep concern, hurried towards the observatory, preparing to be teleported.
Finney and the others quickly followed, standing at the teleportation entrance. Heimdall, sword in hand, walked to the control panel, preparing to activate the Bifrost.
This was Finney's first time using the Bifrost for teleportation, and he felt a mixture of curiosity and nervousness. As the Bifrost activated, a powerful suction force suddenly came from the entrance, and Finney began to be teleported to Vanaheim.
