"This feels amazing!" Ishar carefully selected the emotions he needed, absorbed them, then discarded the 'useless' emotions.
Among these useless emotions, the majority of them were Samuel's lovetowards his family.
These emotions that Samuel treasured even to his death were discarded by Ishar like a pair of ragged shoes.
However, Ishar was quite interested in the woman called Isabella.
Thanks to Samuel's memories, he now knew quite a bit about Isabella.
The woman Isabella wasn't a Weyian tribe member, but rather a woman from the Rose kingdom.
However, what peaked Ishar's interest in her was that the woman was actually an aristocratic family, which was a distant branch of the royal family.
Apparently, a few years ago, the Rose kingdom had some internal strife an uprising.
Since the people could not get to the royal family. They turned to those related to them.
The branch family of the royal family was eradicated. Isabella was able to escape in time, and moved to this place to hide.
Over time she grew to like it here, and settled down here and married Samuel.
But what Ishar was interested in was that they members of the Royal family were worshpped as 'children of the night.'
They were not pure humans. In fact it seemed that in the Sword kingdom as well they rulling party wasn't purely human.
Ishar turned to look at Isabella and couldn't detect any abnormalities in her. She looked perfectly human.
The system had called this a low magic world. But from the several things that Ishar had seen. That didn't seem to be the case.
"From what Isabella told Samuel, the ancestors of the humans in the kingdoms had their bloodlines engineered, improved upon on."
Ishar was currently thinking about his plans, especially since Isabella was now a pregnant woman.
"The adaptability of a fetus to any phenomenon normally exceeds that of a fully matured being."
Ishar recalled a few movies from his previous life, where they used the mother's body as a springboard to allow the fetus inside their mother to slowly adapt to those serums and powers.
Making such babies to surpass others. Often becoming the strongest members of their race.
This train of thought led Ishar to reach a dangerous but inevitable conclusion.
Apart from the crows no other being had survived his curse. The crows that did had become enhanced. Physically, mentally and otherwise.
The 'humans' in the Rose kingdom and the Sword kingdom were stronger than the humans in the 5 tribes. Because long ago their bloodline was engineered and worked on.
If Ishar wanted to gain absolute control over the tribes he would soon come into conflict with the Two kingdoms.
And he was too weak to face them alone. He needed an army. And one that was Strong enough to face the army of both kingdoms.
"If I curse the unborn child in Isabella and suppresses its growth, the newborn child should theoretically be able to adapt to it like the crows."
"There are quite a few similar specimens in the village. It's still unknown if Isabella would have a different reaction to the bacteria as she belongs to a different race of humans"
After absorbing the memories of quite a few people, Ishar had a much clearer understanding of this world
The 5 tribes had once been a great Empire, Menstanza. Their land spanned over half of the lower continent. Reaching even the Black Forest.
The Rose kingdom and the Sword kingdom were vassal states under the Menstanza Empire.
One day the empire was attacked by the both kingdoms. Naturally the easily repelled the attack. The emperor had a much larger and more organized military than the kingdoms.
However, out of nowhere men 7 foot men with wolfheads emerged from the Sword kingdoms army.
And several beautiful women with bat like wings emerged from the Rose kingdom army.
The devasted the forces of the Empire, nothing could be done to stop them. At the end the empire fell.
Without a common enemy to rally against on. The alliance of the Sword kingdom and Rose kingdom crumbled, and the turned their swords to one another.
The survivors of the Empire people had now scattered all over the lower continen. With most coming together to form a huge tribe.
In order to ensure that a revolt could never happen. The Sword kingdom and the Rose kingdom split the tribe into 5, of which the Weyian tribe is one.
Overtime and through the efforts if their new masters. The five tribes forgot about their common ancestry and the true enemy. And turned to one another.
From these myths, Ishar managed to obtain quite a bit of information. For example, the biggest enemies of this village, was a nearby tribe, the Olan tribe.
The Olan people were natural-born bandits, the will to invade was already engraved into their blood, while the Weyian tribe was made mostly of hunters and farm.
Ishar came to the conclusion that this world was much more dangerous than his previous world but far more interesting.
Under Strigois' guidance, the gathered villagers began to follow Pilgrim's orders and formed a new hunting party.
Their main mission was no longer to hunt for food, but rather to find crows or crow's eggs and bring them back to the village.
As for what they would eat. Ishar had the crows scouting the woods for Wildlife. They would then pass on the information to Strigoi who would pass it on to the men.
While Strigoi was observing the group of obedient people, he felt an unprecedented feeling of satisfaction, then noticed a middle-aged man with a complicated expression standing not too far away from him.
As the middle-aged man noticed Strigoi looking at him, he turned to leave. As he had a limp in one of his legs, he couldn't move very quickly.
Strigoi's lips twitched, losing over half of the satisfaction he was feeling before and hurriedly chased after the limp middle-aged man.
"Dad, why did you also come?" Strigoi maintained his calm and asked.
"I am not your father. My son has already died with the old hunting party" the limp man angrily spoke while continuing to walk forward.
Strigoi stopped as his expression turned sour: "I'm doing this for the village, why are you treating me so?"
"My son is a hero who hunts for the village, not a coward who came back to slander his companions" the limp man replied: "You've already forgotten, it was Samuel who helped you join the hunting party, it was Gran who taught and helped you from scratch. But you pushed Samuel to his death and you slandered Gran's name. My son is not a person like that!"
"And that's why you think that I was wrong!?" Strigoi suppressed his anger and refuted: "Everything I did, I did for this village, for our family. Otherwise, why did you think I joined the hunting party!?"
"If not for my unborn little sibling, would I have joined the hunting party? If not to prevent the plague from befalling our village, would I push Samuel to his death?" Strigoi viciously spoke.
The middle-aged man stopped, said nothing, then continued to limp back home, but his back seemed to hunch a lot more than it used to.
Strigoi swallowed his anger and decided to not return home. He returned to the village chiefs residence. He would leave there now.
He turned to see the village chiefs daughters body still on the floor. No one had touched it out of fear. He was about to call guards to get rid of it.
When he stopped. An evil grin plastered on his face. He had always wondered how the village chiefs daughter looked under those long dresses.
He stepped out to talk to the guards at the door.
"No one is allowed into this house. I have strict orders from Lord Pilgrim to purify the body."
The men bowed towards him before returning to their post keeping watch.
With that he locked the door behind him let down his trousers and began to move towards the dead girls body.
Far away on a thin branch, a single crow rested, wings folded, it's head tilted looking into the house.
It's gaze lingered for a while, then, as silently as it had appeared, it took to the sky, flapping its wings into the darkening horizon.
