That's when he uncovered the second anomaly. Despite being nowhere near the door,he could still hear the voices of his mother and father, they didn't seem to be talking about him, nor did they seem frantic in their tone of voice.

For Issei, returning to Rias Gremory fully dressed in the academy uniform was paramount to him realising that Kusora's words were utter shit. This is the definition of 'He looked back and it was gone.'
He wanted to cry, but not while she was currently watching. At least he enjoyed it while it lasted, because even if she was covered up, there were still a number of things that he wanted to ask her.
