"Wow... the stars are shining brighter than usual today. Do you think it has something to do with today's event?"
"Maybe. Wait!! Why does it look like they're moving toward us?!"
King Andrew followed the guard outside. As he looked up, his face suddenly tensed, his cheerful demeanor instantly replaced by a dark expression.
"Contact Gorin right now. We are under attack."
"Yes, sir!" the guard replied before turning into mist and rushing away.
Some of the guests wore worried expressions as the millions of bright lights continued to move toward them.
Staring into the sky, lightning began to trail from Andrew's body, creeping across the ground until it covered the entire surrounding area.
Suddenly, bolts of lightning erupted from different points across the land, shooting into the sky. With a violent BANG!!, they obliterated every bright object in the vicinity, releasing a blinding flash so brilliant that it could be seen from every corner of Revilia.
When the light finally faded, the terrified guests rushed toward the castle.
Andrew teleported back onto the dais.
He whispered something into Erwin's ear before disappearing.
The guests who had been outside finally made it back into the castle.
Panic spread throughout the hall as the guests frantically discussed what had happened.
"Calm down. There is no need for panic. Be assured that your safety is our highest priority," Erwin said in a reassuring tone.
Just then, flaming objects crashed through the ceiling, plummeting toward the guests at terrifying speeds.
The guards stationed throughout the hall intercepted them, striking the blazing objects with powerful attacks and sending them flying across the room.
As the flames died down, they revealed two lifeless bodies. They resembled elves, but their skin was as dark as ash.
More flaming objects rained down upon the castle, causing the guests to scream in terror as they desperately searched for safety.
The guards throughout the hall rushed forward to intercept the growing threat.
Eva leaped down from the dais and swept both hands upward. The ground responded instantly, forming a massive tunnel of sand leading to one of the exits.
"Over here!" she shouted above the chaos, drawing the guests' attention.
The guests immediately ran toward the tunnel and escaped through the exit.
With the civilians gone, the soldiers finally had enough room to engage the enemy without restraint.
As the flaming objects struck the floor, they transformed into creatures similar to the corpses from before, though with noticeable differences. Some were as large as giants. Every one of them wielded the power of flame and carried weapons that appeared to be forged from molten lava.
Although the guards possessed no abilities and the invaders had more numbers on their side, the guards easily cut through them.
The creatures continued to rain into the hall.
Erwin moved with such incredible speed and precision that he became nothing more than a blur, weaving through the battlefield as his blade effortlessly cut down one invader after another.
Before long, the defenders had slain every last invader, and no more seemed to be falling from the sky.
With Rose's help, every guest had been safely evacuated to a secure location.
But then, a dreadful realization struck Erwin.
