Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The feeling of being observed…

She walked out of class with a smile on her face, still being giddy over the events of the morning, as she went to go and participate in practice with the rest of her team.

Alas even there she couldn't stop herself from being well, giddy to an extreme.

"Hehehehe, Orfy, hehehehe."

It was to such an extent that everybody was looking at her in confusion as they all stretched and got ready for afternoon practice.

"Hope," her trainer started, "Is something wrong, you've been giggling for a while…"

"Oh! Everything's fine trainer I just got a date is all," she said with a bright smile on her face.

Her trainers face froze as he processed what her had just heard, "A date?"

He asked, as his eyes unfocused and he looked towards the trees a horrified expression building on his face.

She felt a group of eyes focus on her as she kept talking to the trainer, but she ignored it judging that they lacked any form of malice, it was probably just the rest of the team members of spica after all, though there was another that she couldn't quite pin down…

She nodded at what seemed to be his question, "Yup, a date!"

"I'm dead…" he said his tone filled with despair, "Your dad's going to kill me…"

"Eh? Why would he do that?"

Her trainer ignored her as he looked towards the sky and seemed to accept something for whatever reason, alas as he was doing that the rest of the team piped up.

"Eh?!" Teio started first, "You have a date? Who is it!"

"Now Teio," McQueen started trying to interject, "That's a bit rude, you don't simply ask who somebodies date is," She said strictly.

"Hmm, but McQueen!"

"NO!" McQueen said calmly, "It's rude, but… if you don't mind telling us, Hope, who are you going to go on a date with?" An expectant look on her face.

"Hm? But McQueen…" Gold Ship started an almost teasing look in her eyes as she realized the opportunity that was afforded to her, "Didn't you say it was rude to ask who she was going on a date with?"

"T-That's different!"

"Is it though? You said that it was rude to ask who she was going on a date with, and yet you're asking her yourself? Does that not make you a hypocrite?"

"IT DOES NOT!" She said as she crossed her arms together to form an X like shape, "There is a difference between all but demanding who she is going on a date with and asking politely! Desuwa."

Gold Ship was going to say something more but was soon cut off as she decided to say who she was going on a date with, "It's Orfy of course!"

They all just looked at her.

"…"

"…"

Nobody said anything they all just paused and looked at her.

Suddenly, "Hope. Who is Orfy?" Gold Ship grew serious for a moment, a hard look entering her eyes.

"Eh? Ah, yes of course, I'm sorry it makes sense that you wouldn't know her by that name, It's a nickname only I use of course," She said a hint of pride entering her voice before she continued, "Her name is Orfevre."

They all looked at her in almost pure abject shock, as she simply smiled, though oddly enough her trainers eyes seemed to have lost it's almost glossy luster as she said her beloveds name.

"Orfy…" Gold Ship started as she seemed to be giving a wide smile, of all things? "You call her Orfy… I… I have to tell Festa about this… oh and Feno-chan as well! I can't forget about Lila and March! Oh this is good! Oh just wait till dad hears about her nickname!"

Gold Ship… was well doing Gold Ship things.

McQueen looked at her in disappointment at the way she was acting but did nothing to stop it.

Teio looked at her in shock.

The same went for Vodka and Daiwa, before both went back to bickering for an unknown reason even they couldn't explain.

Suzuka was shocked along with Special Week, before the latter decided to offer something.

"Wait! Hope-san! Do you even know how to use makeup?"

"Eh? What's makeup?"

Gold Ship stoped her hysterics to look at her just as everybody else even Daiwa and Vodka just stared at her.

"Hope…" Daiwa started, "Do you… do you really not know what makeup is?"

"Nope, not a clue."

An almost pitying look appeared in her eyes as she seemed to realize something, "Right, I almost forgot you're a bigger country bumpkin than Spe was…" she whispered.

"All right!" Teio of all people decided, we'll help you get ready for the date! Don't worry we'll teach you all you need to know about makeup and wearing nice looking casual clothes~"

She felt moisture building up in her eyes as she looked at her team members, no, friends with pure joy, "You guys…"

"Don't worry about it!" Teio shouted.

She smiled a large smile at her senpai's words and yet she couldn't help but feel that she was being observed for whatever reason…

Oru may have very positive feelings for Hope for Tomorrow and like her enough to go on a date together, but it was still her responsibility as the elder sister to vet her younger sisters partners.

She didn't do so with Ikezoe, their trainer, because she knew that she could keep him in check no matter what happened, she was confident in it.

She didn't do it with Lala and Marche because they were both so young that she didn't mind them being around her younger sister all that much, there was also the weird feeling of closeness she felt with them, but that was a different story.

And for the rest of the family well they could be explained with the simple fact that they were family, she trusted them enough not to do anything untoward towards her younger sister.

With the sole exception of Gold Ship of course.

But still, that meant that Hope for Tomorrow a complete unknown that she knows only met Oru when they still went to their uncles place once every couple of months for a few days, years ago, was a complete unknown that she didn't know anything about.

So, if she had to stalk her to make sure that she only had good intentions towards her beloved younger sister, then all the better.

Author note

I ain't got much to say, actually no I do, sorry for the late update, I would have done it yesterday, but I was physically and mentally done after doing football spring camp for all but three days straight, and I mean DONE.

I literally couldn't think of anything to write, like literally ANYTHING!

My mind was more deserted than the Sahara!

Add to the fact that Don't Look, or in other words the epic of Dream Weaver, ended, and I had lost all motivation to work on a chapter.

So I am sorry, as compensation I shall add in an omake detailing what it was like, in a dramatized way, what it was like for Hope's dad (adopted), Shirou Emiya, had to deal with when trying to train(read tame) Halo.

Narrated by Sunday Silence to child Stay Gold.

OMAKE (Canon, if dramatized)

"When my mother, your grand mother, first met her trainer, your uncle, it wasn't exactly a civil affair…" her mother drawled a bit, a weird look entering in her almost mismatched red and yellow eyes.

"What do you mean mommy?"

"Well, you know how your uncle is basically a giant compared to us, you know with him being basically being twice our size right?"

"Yeah! He always gave the best uppies!"

"Well, my mom, your grand mother, was a bit of a aggressive uma, she didn't take kindly to trainers trying to tell her what to do, especially if they were taller than her… and because of that no trainer wanted to well, train her, except your uncle, who saw potential in her and decided to train her…"

"Did it no go well?"

"Oh, no, he was a great trainer! The only problem was that he had to change his strategy greatly to train your grand mother…"

"How so?"

"Well… whenever he tried to coach her, she'd bite him. When he tried to get her to train, she'd bite him. When he tried to get her to eat her greens… well, let's just say you're uncle hit a breaking point and decided that he'd force her to do things his way…"

She looked at her mother curiously as she spoke, "How did he force her?"

"Well… let's just say he realized that the only way for her to submit was to put her in an armbar, a leg lock, a rear naked choke hold and many other positions, including a full Nelson."

"What's a full Nelson?"

Her mother's cheeks heated up, "Don't worry about it…"
