Chapter 5 - chapter 5: Alana's visit

What the hell just happened? Urggg… my head is pounding. Slowly, I blink my eyes open, trying to make sense of my surroundings as the radiant morning light blinds me. I'm… in my bed? How did I even get here? What the hell happened?

I carefully push myself upright, wincing as the room tilts around me. To my left, my mother Alicia sits on a chair by the bedside. Her crimson-red eyes are closed, and she seems to be asleep. How long have I been out? Hours? Days?

I struggle to stand, my body still sore from the chaos of the past events wait the past events a flood of memories hit my head as I held and fell to my knees breaths were ragid and short beads of sweat from my forehead to the cold stone floor I stood up slowly dispute the pulsing on my temples. And then… my gaze falls on my hand. What the hell is this ring doing on my finger?

The skull-shaped ring pulses with an eerie light, black crystal glowing faintly. It's the same one she had used to unlock my power no not to unlock it feels like it's to contain it my strength is drained slowly by each second. Magical energy hums beneath the surface, tingling against my skin. I'll have to ask her about it later once she's awake, assuming I survive the day, fell on my side as I use the bed to lift my Body up fall on my bed a few moments of me laying on the bed the pain subsides.and enjoy the plain silence of the morning all the birds chirping and some singing a beautiful song this does remind me of the human realm it's weird how these realms are so similar

A loud knock on the door shatters the silence. Who could that be? Po? Jax? They usually announce themselves with a lot of shouting, but this… feels different.

I move quickly jumping from my bed last the living room, swinging the door open and freeze.

It's the student body president. Alana.

"What… what a pleasure, Pres. What do I owe for such a visit?" I stutter, my brain scrambling to process what's happening.

"Nothing, Justin. I just came to see you," she says casually, pushing past me into the room without waiting for permission.

Before I can respond, Alicia stretches and yawns, stepping into the doorway of the living room. "Oh, Justin, you haven't told me your friend came to visit. And before I forget Po and Jax stopped by yesterday to check on you," she adds, rubbing her back as if she's been lounging for hours.

"Well… it's a bit compli-" I start, but Alana interrupts with a mischievous smile.

"Nice to meet you, ma'am. I'm Justin's girlfriend."

My jaw drops.a cold runs down my spine

"Oh, Justin, you haven't told me you had a girlfriend," Alicia says, giving me a teasing grin.

"Mom, it's not what it looks like!" I blurt out.

"Ohhh, Justin," she gasps dramatically, pressing a hand to her chest. "After you declare your love for me, you simply say it's not? That breaks my heart." She tilts her head and flashes a mischievous grin that only adds to my confusion.

Ohhh come on.pulling the guilt trip card on me after I wake up,really classy for someone like her

"It's only been a day since I declared my love for you!" I shout, utterly bewildered.

"What are you talking about, Justin? You haven't been to school in three days."

Three days? My mind reels. I remember only a single day passing. Something isn't adding up.

"And… what happened to your hair?" Alana's eyes scan me critically. "It's revoltingly white. That doesn't suit you at all."

White… my hair? I stumble to the mirror in the living room. My reflection stares back, locks now pure white instead of the black I remember. My heart sinks. A dye could fix it… hopefully ....wait does dyes exist in this realm I haven't seen much complicated stuff since I got here.

"Nothing a magic can't fix, my darling. Oh, and it's nice to meet you, Miss Alana," Alicia says, taking my hand and guiding me back to my bedroom. She sits me on the bed, her face suddenly serious.

"Justin… you must not tell anyone about what happened three days ago. It stays between us. And if you remember anything while you were asleep… don't speak of it," she says firmly.

"What do you mean 'while I was asleep'? And… I remember everything now. What about those figures in the chamber?"

"We used them as catalysts for your power," Alicia explains, her voice calm but heavy with authority. "strong demons like you often need a catalyst to awaken fully. Their power is too strong for one body to contain without assistance."

As she speaks, she uses turns to my dressing table a picks up a cup as she reaches to her left pocket and takes out a black stone and drops it in the cup as it makes a sound and she puts out her hand as a light green magic cycle appears and burns the stone to a liquid heating magic no it has to be fire magic she then turns to one of my drawers to reach for a small brush as she dips it into the cup and applies it to my hair to gradually turn my hair back to black but my eyes remain crystal blue not crimson red like that night, a permanent reminder of the transformation no this must be a curse.

"That's… a lot to take in," I mutter, still trying to wrap my head around it. "But today I'll focus on using my power and testing my limits if I get the chance. And I know I must not remove this ring." I glance at the skull ring glowing faintly on my finger.

Suddenly, a loud voice calls from the living room interrupting me and Alicia. "Justin! Hurry up! We're going to be late for school!"

"School?! I have school?! Wait" Panic sets in as I rub to the window and open the curtain wide to gaze at the Sun which blinded me once more I then rash to my drawers throwing them open and I found it a clock wait it's 7:50!!. "Ohhh shit! I totally forgot about school!" I scramble and open my closet and there it stands my uniform hanged neatly black formal shoes white long pants a black shirt and a white blazer with black linging on the sides. I throw on my uniform, messy and disheveled, barely managing to get dressed in time.

"Come on, Justin. Into the carriage!" Alana calls, her tone impatient but playful, following me toward the waiting horse-drawn carriage.

"I've been absent for the last three days," I say, trying to sound casual despite the chaos. "I was… held up in something. And, uh… don't ask about it." Alana gives me a long, appraising look, curiosity flickering in her eyes.

I take a deep breath. Today feels like it's going to be a long, strange day not to mention the situation about the princess we are bound to meet one day I looked down as I let out a sigh.
