Max's Point of View
I approached Marcus with angry strides, and before he could process anything, I seized his throat with my massive hand, pinning him down with my body. "Do you want to know what happened, you bastard?" I growled through gritted teeth.
He pushed at me with trembling hands, gasping for air. "What's wrong with you? Tell me what happened!" he said in shock.
I loosened my grip slightly and said sharply, "Do you remember what you did last night?"
"I don't remember anything," he replied, shaking his head in despair.
"You got drunk last night and assaulted Julie," I told him, the truth slapping him in the face.
Marcus recoiled as if struck by lightning, leaning against the wall and staring at me with wide, disbelieving eyes. "What are you saying? You're lying!" he rasped.
"You thought she was your damn lover," I said stolidly.
