Evelyn's POV
The following morning, I arrived at Maison Étoile in a much better mood than I had expected.
The previous day's photoshoot had gone beyond everyone's expectations. Even now, as I stepped out of the company van and looked up at the elegant glass building standing proudly beneath the Parisian sky, I could still remember the excitement on the photographer's face and the satisfaction in John's voice when the session finally ended.
For the first time since arriving in Paris, I felt something dangerously close to confidence.
The feeling was unfamiliar.
Beside me, Liora stretched her arms dramatically as we walked toward the entrance.
"I still can't believe we're actually working here," she said, looking around for what felt like the hundredth time since we arrived in Paris.
I couldn't help laughing.
"You've said that every day."
"Because it's true every day."
She pointed toward the building with exaggerated enthusiasm.
