Su Nian spoke quietly, her voice faint. A flicker of disgust crossed the man's eyes before he quickly concealed it.
Frowning, he said, "Hurry up. We can't get caught."
But he failed to notice the eerie smile on Su Nian's face.
Blinking, she replied softly, "Okay."
She immediately matched his pace. The man in the plaid shirt spoke reluctantly, "In two minutes, we'll reach the zoo. We need to hurry. This time, we're going to the Lion Garden. There's a hole there—I saw it. It looks like it connects to a tunnel leading outside. If we climb out through there, we'll be saved!"
Su Nian gave him a huge smile, her eyes filled with complete trust for the man before her.
Two minutes later, just as he'd said, the two of them left the amusement park behind and arrived at an iron gate with the word "Zoo" written in large letters.
It was completely silent here; not a sound could be heard.
