Claire Sinclair felt a bit on edge. Mustering her courage, she went downstairs and stood at the door, peering through the peephole.
It really was Ethan Kingsley.
'That bastard. After what he did to Ivy Tanner, how dare he show his face here!'
Claire Sinclair didn't open the door right away. She spoke through it, "Mr. Kingsley, is there something you need this late?"
Ethan Kingsley's tone was urgent. "Where's Little Cutie? Have her come out. I need to see her."
Claire Sinclair gave a cold laugh. "Sorry, Third Miss Tanner told me she felt dirty, so I had her go take a shower. And I'm not letting anyone take her away until I find out who left those marks on her."
At her words, Ethan Kingsley's brow furrowed. "Claire Sinclair, it was me. I'm here to take her away."
His willingness to admit it surprised Claire Sinclair, but the damage had already been done. She would not let this man take Ivy Tanner away.
