Shona Joplin could clearly feel that menacing gaze was aimed at her.
She instinctively took a couple of steps back, a little frightened.
'Could it be that Miles knows the new nanny wasn't the one who hurt the child?'
The doctor carefully bandaged Joan Shaw's wound, not daring to be the least bit negligent.
Sarah was furious, sitting off to the side and pouting. She couldn't understand why her father was so concerned about a nanny—especially the one who had made her sister bleed.
After the doctor had cleaned Joan Shaw's wound and applied a gauze bandage, Miles Xavier finally spoke in a deep voice.
"Everyone who is not essential, leave."
The servants and the doctor didn't linger, turning and leaving in unison.
Joan Shaw also stood up to leave, but the menacing voice sounded behind her again. "Who said you could go?"
"Uh, didn't you say all non-essential people?" Joan Shaw frowned. 'Did I mishear him?'
