The car descended from Bathsia and entered the highway. As they approached the Grand Imperial Palace, they were shocked to find both sides of the road lined with banners.
The banners were emblazoned with giant red letters: "Ashley Bowen, get out of the royal family!" "Give us back our pure royal family!" and other similar slogans.
The most infuriating thing was a massive poster, about the size of a blackboard, covered in unflattering candid photos of Ashley Bowen—yawning, picking her nose, and so on.
Beside it was text that read: "How can we let someone with such behavior into the royal family? Ashley Bowen is a hag!"
Ashley Bowen turned her head away and clenched her fists. 'Faced with their slander, all I can do right now is hide in this car like a coward.'
"We're almost at the palace! Can't you see this sea of people? Pull down the blinds, now!" Court Lady Han glanced at the crowd outside and snapped at the maids sitting on either side of the car.
