Gregory Winslow's job offered great benefits and a long New Year holiday, so he wasn't scheduled to return to work until after the fifteenth.
On the fourth day of the New Year, he knocked on his superior's door, gifts in hand.
Francis Aldridge looked at him in complete surprise. After welcoming him inside, he asked, "What brings you here during the New Year holiday? Is something wrong at home?"
Francis Aldridge's wife came over to pour them tea, and her ears perked up at his question.
'I hope he hasn't come to borrow money during the New Year.'
'That would be terribly unlucky.'
Gregory Winslow just smiled and got straight to the point. "Sir, I'd like to request a transfer."
"A transfer?" Francis Aldridge sat up straight. "Why, all of a sudden? Aren't you doing a perfectly good job here? Where do you want to go? Are you facing some kind of trouble at home?"
