Leona Grant shot her a cold glance and turned to leave.
Annabelle Linton clenched her fists, her composure shattered. She stood behind him and roared, "Leona Grant, do you really have to be like this with me?! When we were married, you were cold and distant. Now that we're divorced, you refuse to let go. What in the world do you want?!"
Leona Grant spun around and snarled back, "So what if I'm trying to care for you and treat you well now? Can't I make up for my past mistakes? Why won't you give me a chance?!"
"Why should I give you a chance? Why do you think you can just do whatever you want? Wouldn't it be better if we just went our separate ways? Why do you insist on tormenting me like this?!"
Leona Grant let out two angry laughs, a hurt glint flickering in his icy eyes. "So, in your eyes, me locking him up and teaching him a lesson is tormenting *you*?"
"Yes! He's the most important person in my life, and I won't allow anyone to hurt him for any reason!"
