After she spoke, she tried to get up again to make a call, but he reached out and pulled her into his arms. "Just let me hold you for a bit. It hurts!"
Afraid of hurting him, Lara Nash didn't dare to struggle. Just then, she heard Ronan Joyce's parents coming upstairs. A wave of panic and guilt washed over her. She was about to call out for them to come in and help her move him, but he stopped her with a low voice. "Don't alert them yet. I think the pain is easing up a little."
