For some reason, just the thought of going to see Ronan's parents made her nervous, even though she had met them once a few years ago and they were wonderful people.
When Ronan had taken her to meet his parents years ago, she hadn't felt this nervous at all. She didn't know what was wrong with her this time. Perhaps she felt guilty because of how her own parents had once treated them. Or perhaps, years ago, she had simply been a carefree young girl who didn't yet understand life.
Seeing her like this, Ronan couldn't help but find it amusing. He put an arm around her to stop her. "It's not like you haven't met them before."
She shook her head and shrank away. "It's different! It's completely different!"
