She pointed a trembling finger at him, unable to form a complete sentence. A glance at Sophia showed her expression wasn't much better.
"Your period last month came at the beginning of the month, but it's the middle of the month now, and it hasn't come yet, has it?"
Ronan Joyce showed no hesitation just because Sophia was present. He calmly looked at Lara Nash. Every time she got her period, she would have cramps and complain to him endlessly about wanting to be a man in her next life. But during their recent phone calls, she hadn't mentioned it at all. He had even tried to probe subtly several times, asking if she was feeling unwell, but she never brought up having period cramps.
Lara Nash realized her period really hadn't come, and a chill went down her spine. She started stammering again, "You, you, you... I, I, I..."
After struggling for a long moment, she finally managed to force out a sentence. "You knew I might be pregnant, and last night you still..."
