"Silas, I can't go back with you today," Mika said coolly, looking up.
"Not go back with me?"
She gathered her things from the table and stood up. "Yes. Kiki doesn't even recognize me as his mother right now. I want to spend some more time with him before bringing him home."
"Heh..." Silas suddenly smirked. "How long will that take?"
Mika froze for a moment. Then, she recalled the image of Kiki sleeping soundly in her arms last night, and a warm smile touched her lips. "Kids are pretty easy to win over. It shouldn't take too long. This weekend, I'll take him out for a couple of days."
"Alright. This weekend, I'll go with you two."
"Okay, it's a plan, then. I'll just..." Mika trailed off, her gaze turning to Silas, asking for permission.
Silas gave a slight nod.
Mika felt a sense of relief. "I'll be going, then."
"Mm."
After Mika left the office, Silas sank back onto the sofa, looking dejected.
