If livestock or vegetables raised within an Indigenous Reserve were to be sold to other parts of the state, they would be exempt from state sales tax.

However, some local governments, due to their own fiscal needs, might still levy a certain local sales tax.

Alaska's administrative divisions are quite complex, consisting of 19 organized boroughs and 144 cities.

According to state law, in Tundra regions with clearly defined administrative divisions that fall within a borough or city, the local government is responsible for managing the Tundra within its jurisdiction. This management, conducted under the state's policy framework, includes overseeing local infrastructure, public services, and other related affairs.
