They all knew that ever since Jenny had come to the Crown Territory, she had been content to stay put. She had never left, and she certainly couldn't afford any expensive cosmetic treatments.
So, how could the scar on her face be healing?
Maria's face was full of suspicion. She slowly leaned in, her eyes fixed on the scar on Jenny's face as if trying to see right through it.
She reached out a hand and gently touched the scar, her movement as delicate as if she were handling a priceless treasure.
However, as if she'd received an electric shock, she instantly pulled her hand back, an expression of utter astonishment on her face.
Her mouth fell slightly open, as if she wanted to say something but was at a loss for words.
"Jenny, did you use makeup?" Maria asked again, her face a mask of confusion. She found it hard to believe the incredible scene before her.
Jenny gently shook her head, unable to hold back the tears welling in her eyes. They streamed slowly down her cheeks.
