Nathan Redgrave stood tall and poised beside Hannah Hale, the sharp lines of his profile drawn tight.
Since his grandmother had told them to return, Hannah couldn't really object. Besides, they were supposed to have had dinner at the Redgrave estate today anyway. She had only used working late as an excuse because she'd seen those photos and was too angry to face Nathan Redgrave.
"Morgan, I have to go to the Redgraves' first. Drive safe on your way home."
Hannah Hale rose from her chair, picking up her coat and putting it on.
Morgan Joyce nodded and pulled a small box from his jacket pocket. "I picked this up when I went to get you from the hospital. Chocolate-filled candies, your favorite when you were a kid."
"Where did you buy these? They're so hard to find now."
Hannah took the small box Morgan handed her. She had been looking for them herself but could never find them in supermarkets.
"I bought them at that supermarket near our old school."
