"We're so sorry, it was very thoughtless of us. We should have come to visit you all much sooner. My sincerest apologies."
Arthur Shaw sat down on the sofa in the living room and spoke apologetically.
While he and Laura Lowell's father weren't close, they were acquainted. In their business circles, it was perfectly normal to know one another from attending various gatherings.
Martin Lowell chuckled as he handed the freshly brewed tea to Arthur Shaw. "Nonsense. We're going to be one family now, there's no need for such formalities."
Marian Miller and Laura Lowell's mother, Maeve Miller, hit it off right away. The more they talked, the more they found in common.
"Aiden's father and I consulted Master Chambers, and he said the best time for the children to hold their wedding is at the end of the year. What do you all think?"
"Master Chambers is highly respected, so of course, we have no objections. And a wedding at the end of the year sounds wonderful—it's such a festive time."
