By now, Liam Valerius had started to resent the very person who wanted to kill Damien Valerius. Of all the times to make an attempt, it had to be now, making Liam the prime suspect.
'Then again, Damien's been abroad all this time. Who would want him dead so soon after his return?'
"Are you sure you had nothing to do with it?" Jameson Valerius asked, scrutinizing Liam.
Liam nodded profusely. "I'm sure!" 'It's true, I haven't tried to kill Damien yet.' With that thought, he quickly added, "Dad, it must be someone who knows Damien and I don't get along. They hired an assassin to kill him and frame me for it! It's a way to kill two birds with one stone. That has to be it!"
Liam had just made that up on the spot to clear his name. But after listening, Jameson Valerius seemed to consider it carefully. He turned and sat back down on the sofa.
