At 3:00 AM, a black sedan sped down the highway, running several red lights without stopping.
Aurora Sterling sat in the car, clenching her hands so tightly her fingertips turned white. Her body trembled.
"Sean Carter, go faster!"
"Miss Sterling, we're already going as fast as we can," Sean Carter answered truthfully.
"Is that so? As fast as you can…" Aurora Sterling looked out the window. The scenery flew by in a blur, like a phantom image, impossible to see clearly. She could tell Sean Carter wasn't lying; the car was already moving at an incredible speed.
But right now, Aurora Sterling's heart was filled with immense anxiety. She just wanted to go faster, even faster.
A large hand covered Aurora Sterling's tightly clenched ones. Damien Valerius pressed his lips together, unsure of what he could possibly say to comfort her at this moment.
Because he knew that at a time like this, any words of comfort would be hollow and useless.
