The sight of Aurora Sterling emerging from around the corner startled Sean Carter. He knew she was saying her final goodbyes to Mrs. Sterling and hadn't expected her to come out so soon.

Moreover, according to Timothy Sterling, Joy Dalton had once subtly fished for information about her grandfather's research projects.
Right after Joy Dalton made that call from the hospital, she was mysteriously murdered. Dean and his men were killed along with her.
