Seth Quinn's gaze pulled back from the doorway. The tenderness from when he was watching Clara Grant's retreating figure had vanished completely. Lying on the bed, he shot a sideways glance at Autumn Shelby, a hint of mockery in his eyes.
"You think I rejected you just now because of Clara? I can only say you're overthinking things. I really do mind."
With that, he didn't spare her another glance and said to Sienna Hale, "Mom, you can go home. Mrs. Cheney is here."
Sienna Hale nodded. She looked at Autumn Shelby, who was standing there biting her lower lip, obviously resentful, and said, "Autumn, come back with me."
As she spoke, she gave Mrs. Cheney a few instructions to take good care of her son, then turned and walked out of the room.
Autumn Shelby watched her back, her eyes clouding with annoyance, but she ultimately followed her out.
