Hearing Cherie's words, Clara instinctively glanced over at Seth Quinn. When she saw he was also staring at her, she quickly averted her gaze and looked back at Cherie. "You're right. We should thank the kind person."
With that, she handed the music box she was holding to Cherie, changing the subject. "Here, this is the gift I bought for you. See how cute and pretty it is? It even plays lovely music when you open it. What do you think? Do you like it?"
Cherie looked at the music box, and the corner of his mouth twitched. 'I'm a boy, hello? We haven't seen each other in over a month—did she get my gender mixed up? How could she buy me such a girly gift?'
He really wanted to say, 'I don't like it.' But upon receiving a warning glare from his uncle, he smiled, took the music box, and said sweetly, "Thank you, Sister. As long as it's from you, Cherie loves it, no matter what it is."
