"Of course!"
Clara Grant's voice was full of confidence. He wouldn't let her see Cherie, and he wouldn't let her go back to her own home. Was he going to stop her from meeting her best friend now too?
She wasn't his property, and she wasn't some bird he could lock in a cage! She deserved to have some freedom, didn't she?
"Okay, it's a date! See you there. I'll text you the address in a minute."
Clara Grant hung up and turned to face Seth Quinn. "I want to go out for a bit. Sarah asked to see me."
She paused for a moment before adding, "I want to see her. I've missed her."
Seth Quinn said nothing.
He felt a pang of resentment. She'd been away filming for over a month, and she'd missed Cherie, missed her mom, and now she was saying she missed her best friend.
'But what about me? Did she miss me at all? Even just a little?'
'Probably not.'
Seth Quinn shook his head in self-pity, then stood up to go upstairs.
