Around noon.
Cecilia Adler was dozing, leaning against the head of the sleeper bunk. When the train's broadcast announced they would be stopping at the next station for thirty minutes, she immediately sat up straight.
"Cecilia, are you hungry? I bought you something to eat." Titus Shaw approached, placed a lunchbox on the small table beside her, and then sat down next to her.
Cecilia glanced at him. "Have you eaten?"
"Yes, I have."
Without hesitation, Cecilia opened the lunchbox. It was packed full.
There was fish, meat, and even a small portion of the beef sauce she loved. 'Did he find out what I like from Grandma?'
'He shouldn't think these small favors are enough to win me over and get me to call him Dad.'
She lowered her head and began to eat. A woman sitting across from them spoke up, "You two must be siblings, right? You look so much alike."
Titus Shaw said, "She's my child."
"Your child is this old? You don't look that old yourself."
