A mocking smile lifted the corners of Cecilia Adler's mouth. 'Yes, they should have done it sooner.'
'So why hadn't they?'
She had analyzed the situation.
Probably because the countryside slogans had been so prominent in previous years, and someone in Mr. Quincy's position needed to set an example.
That was why they had never brought him back.
Now that his position was secure, and with Ian Quincy having been away for so long...
...no one could really say anything even if they did bring him back now.
Christal Russell glanced at Cecilia Adler. With just a few simple words, she had managed to shift her mother-in-law's focus. 'Looks like I underestimated her,' she thought. "Mom, don't be too sad. Ian spent ten years building his credentials, which will be good for his career later on."
Mrs. Quincy nodded. "Yes, it's getting late. You should get some rest."
Cecilia Adler politely excused herself and turned to head to her room.
