"Is anyone there?!"
Inside the holding cell, Moreno weakly slapped at the bars, calling out intermittently.
The long wait had finally eroded the last of Moreno's patience. He suddenly leaped up, furiously kicking the bars and shouting at the camera, "Aren't you supposed to be interrogating me? Then get on with it! Why aren't you interrogating me?!"
There was no response.
After his outburst, a helpless Moreno was just about to lie back down when the door suddenly opened.
Derek Xiao walked in with two police officers.
Moreno rushed to the front of the cell and roared furiously, "This is unlawful detention! You're breaking the law! I'm going to sue you!"
They had thrown him in here, but they hadn't interrogated him. He had now been detained for over 24 hours without being released. Moreno felt like he was going to lose his mind.
Xiao watched him with a blank expression and held up a document for Moreno to see.
It was in black and white.
