At least you'll be much warmer when you sleep.
Hearing this, Jessie didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"Don't worry," Jessie said. "Even though there's no central heating, they have electric heaters. It's not like I'll be living in a drafty house. It's not that serious."
But Victor couldn't help but frown.
He could make do anywhere, but Jessie was different. She had never really endured any hardship growing up. He wondered if going to film this variety show was just her asking for trouble.
"If you feel the least bit uncomfortable, just come back," Victor said.
Jessie pressed her lips together to hide a smile. 'He was the one who told me to go if I wanted to, and now he's the one borrowing trouble over it.'
"I know, I know." Jessie patted Victor's shoulder, saying with a grand air, "I would never let myself be mistreated."
