Jeanette Kensington narrowed her eyes and guessed, "Naomi Kenway?"
"Not her. It's Mrs. Shaw."
"Which Mrs. Shaw?"
"Mrs. Shaw of the Shaw Family in Veridia. Ethan Shaw's mother."
Jeanette Kensington scoffed in disbelief. "If you're going to lie to me, at least do your homework first. Everyone knows Jane Chandler has never liked Naomi Kenway or her son. Why would she possibly spend so much money on a hot search?"
"I don't know why she's doing it, but everything I said is true. I swear on my love for you—if I'm lying, may I never be with you again!"
Jeanette Kensington frowned, her expression grim as she hung up the phone, lost in thought.
"You're here?" Caleb Bishop glanced coolly at Jeanette Kensington, who was sitting on the sofa, as if he were already used to this.
Jeanette Kensington walked over and helped him take off his suit jacket. "Did the meeting go well?"
Caleb Bishop nodded.
