"Mr. Beta, you're a great guy, but I'm not looking for a boyfriend right now."
Ruth Winslow said awkwardly after running into Beta Morgan yet again.
Beta Morgan blinked a couple of times, suddenly remembering Leigh Miles complaining to him about Ruth Winslow's single status.
He instantly switched into "best friend" mode. "Ruby, you're not getting any younger. It's time to find someone to lean on. Look, whenever it's a holiday, everyone around you is out on dates in pairs, and you're the one left behind to babysit."
Ruth Winslow, holding her milk tea, glanced at him.
"Aren't you babysitting too?"
Beta Morgan scratched his head and replied sheepishly, "I don't have a choice. No girl wants to be with me. In Pip's words: a perpetual bachelor."
Watching him laugh, Ruth Winslow pursed her lips. "You're actually a great guy..."
"But not boyfriend material. I've been friend-zoned like that hundreds of times."
Ruth Winslow froze.
