Many people are utterly ordinary. They blend into a crowd, impossible to pick out. They're just common folk, the vast majority of the teeming masses.
But some people are the opposite, standing out and shining brightly even in a crowd. These are the prodigies, destined to be the favored children of Heaven.
The Saint Sons and Saintesses of the various Holy Lands are all such individuals, their futures holding infinite possibilities.
Yang Chan, however, had no desire to be one of these favored children. He only wanted to achieve eternal life, to be invincible for all time, to sit by the river of time and watch the teeming masses strive for transcendence.
Therefore, until he reached that stage, he naturally had to be an ordinary person and go with the flow.
The talent he displayed was worthy of nurturing, but not so outstanding as to draw too much attention.
He never expected, however, that a single sentence from him would cause the Merak Saintess to remember his name.
