The fortune-teller said I'd face minor disasters and hardships when I grew up and that I needed some god's blessing for protection. He also said I'd end up marrying a girl older than me. Once she joined the family, all my troubles would supposedly vanish."
"Seriously? That's ridiculous. He was probably some charlatan." Jiangg Yao burst out laughing. 'Then again, that charlatan actually got it right,' she thought. 'Whether it's my sister or me, whoever marries Chen Yuan will end up warding off his misfortune. We'd practically be his lucky stars.'
"I don't believe in that kind of traditional superstition, but my mom does. She thinks it might be fate, so she's fine with it."
