An Immortal's aura flared, and faint, wondrous phenomena appeared in the sky above the former shantytown. Purple qi swirled, and golden lotuses bloomed.

Beneath the shade of a tree, Old Li, who was in the middle of a chess game, looked up in astonishment. He pointed at the sky and said, his voice laced with shock and uncertainty:
"What's going on?"
Old Chen looked up as well, somewhat stunned.
"How should I know... Could it be something those big shots from the city cooked up? To welcome that Speaker who's supposed to be visiting?"
"I have no idea!" Old Li shook his head blankly. They knew nothing of cultivation or worldly phenomena, and they had certainly never encountered an Immortal. Naturally, they had no idea what it meant for such visions to manifest on their own.
