Chapter 146 - Ch. 146: Legendary Super Saiyan

Pressed to his limit by the power of my Regalia Cannon, the other Saiyan's FSSJ energy skyrocketed with a deep growl that doubled as a withheld scream of raw, primal power from deep within.

No, the word 'skyrocket' didn't quite describe it.

Rather, the energy detonated outward like a bomb, carrying far more energy than any manmade bomb had ever contained.

Instinctively, I shifted into SSJP, my power level instantly shooting up to over thirty million in a manner that I'd controlled so perfectly so many times that it simply felt like going back to my normal, but still, I nearly lost control of the Regalia Cannon completely for a moment, just from the energy shockwave alone.

Then, with a wave of his arm, the other Saiyan simply dispersed the Cannon completely.

In an instant, he was in front of me. I caught a single glimpse of his appearance. Long, green hair, pumped muscles, pale golden irises, far whiter than mine become in SSJP form.

I raised my arm to block on instinct. The next moment, I was half a kilometer away, tumbling across the ground with an arm that was very clearly already broken.

With a scream, I stood despite the pain, using the Hyper Motion technique in succession to barely dodge the Legendary Super Saiyan's relentless follow up attacks, ignoring the way the bone in my arm had clearly broken the surface of the skin, and was causing extreme pain with every rapid motion.

Even with the Hyper-Motion technique, I was only barely keeping up with him. His power level… at least a hundred million, and he wasn't even visibly exerting himself yet.

I cursed inwardly, just imagining the power that an LSSJ with a base power level in the millions would be able to unleash. It was time to unleash my ultimate technique.

A soft, white aura erupted from my skin. Only a few millimeters thick, but the change was immediately obvious.

The direction of my Hyper-Motion running instantly shifted. A single moment of preparation was all I needed.

"Blitz Explosion!" My foot flashed across his face, the kinetic energy from my Hyper-Motion technique giving it slightly more power than it'd naturally have.

The LSSJ's neck snapped, and it was blasted backward, cutting a trench straight through the landscape.

The next moment, I was forced to, still in midair, shoot a Shockwave Cannon from my foot to instantly flip over, slipping past the LSSJ's counter with fluid acrobatic skill.

Its next attack slammed against my foot. Then, my fist, my knee.

For a few moments, our power levels were almost perfectly even. Our clash, somewhere above the 100 million mark, shook the very planet beneath our feet. My skill level was higher, but my broken arm held me back.

But with every exchange, the LSSJ's power grew noticeably.

My own power didn't exactly stagnate either. I was able to keep up, to an extent, for a while, but before long, I found myself being pushed to the back foot.

I started taking damage.

Then, with a roar, the LSSJ concentrated a massive amount of energy in its right arm, more than it'd ever used before.

My eyes widened. I moved to slip around it, not willing to take it head-on.

"DIEEEEE!" The LSSJ's fist didn't care about my fancy movements. The energy flew out of its fist and slammed right into my chest.

There was an explosion of bone, blood, and viscera. Then, everything went black.

There was a fifteen second acclimation period, complete darkness, before my eyes opened inside of the simulator. I'd made sure to program that in due to the fact that, otherwise, one's ki might surge at the end of the battle and damage themselves or the simulator, more likely the simulator.

When I opened my eyes, I could feel the slight difference in my energy, which was still running a bit high, as if I'd just finished a battle, even though my actual body hadn't moved a muscle.

I smirked. No matter how many times I used them, these simulators I'd made never got old.

My research specialty was in studying how ki energy interacted with the physical body. Generally that of Saiyans, but I'd been the one to initially design and program Novem, so saying that I was fairly well-rounded could be considered accurate.

In this case, the simulator took inspiration from my study of Chiaotzu's psychic abilities. Seeing those in action, up close, managed to help me make strides in my research of the telepathic abilities that naturally appear once someone's power level grows high enough.

No, I couldn't exactly create some sort of telepathic telephone or anything, nor did I particularly want to. What I did manage to do was create a device that sort-of 'latched' onto an existing telepathic 'conversation', strengthening the connection.

In layman's terms, my 'simulator' used that connection, combined with bits and pieces of Dr. Hyperion's high-speed-brawl projection technology to 'project' a simulated 'enemy' into one's mind, running an entire program on the greatest 'graphics card' known to mankind: Mankind itself.

Essentially Image Training, like Krillin and Gohan did on their trip to Namek in canon, but against an AI, and a heck of a lot more realistic and useful.

Though they weren't actually real, it was incredibly useful in its own way.

I called up the data on my simulated fight against the AI known as 'Generic LSSJ, 200,000'

The screen beside me, normally designed to show the simulation itself, flared back to life from its blank state, showing what was essentially a frame-by-frame breakdown of the fight I'd had inside, with all of the correlating data logged.

Everything exactly as I'd expected, programmed, numbers-wise.

I'd set the LSSJ's base power level at 200,000. At first, I'd overwhelmed it completely in my base form, as predicted, its version of Ikari Mode multiplying its power level by ten or so.

But as the fight dragged on, the multiplier had slowly begun to go up.

By the time I'd shot the Horizon Heel Cutter out, the multiplier had been somewhere around X18. Higher than Pepper had ever been able to bring her version of the form, despite her mastery being almost perfect. Technically higher than my base power, but I wasn't wasting any of my energy.

When it slipped directly from Ikari into FSSJ under the pressure, that multiplier had shot directly up to X25. Beyond my ability to match in my base form, but not beyond my ability to react to.

The FSSJ multiplier had grown slightly slower. By the time I shot off my Regalia Cannon, which was a technique powerful enough to close the gap energy-wise, at least temporarily, it'd only been at X30.

6 million. Effectively, around 7-8 million usable in blocking my Cannon, which, while likely enough to block a normal Regalia Wave, was insufficient against the Cannon.

The threat of severe injury had triggered the simulated LSSJ transformation. It'd, initially, been set to its absolute lowest theoretical threshold… a multiplier of X500. Power level, from six million to a hundred million.

My base power level was at three-and-a-quarter million. SSJP brought that up to around 30 million or so. The effective concentration of the Cannon had notably dipped because of the sudden power-up. I'd thought that I'd been pushing all of the energy from the transformation into it, but apparently not quite. If I had done so, the LSSJ would have been required to put in a tiny bit of effort to smash through it.

By the time I'd used the special technique to push my power level as high as it could go, just barely breaking around 110 million, the LSSJ multiplier, still in its early, most stable stage, had already shot up from X500 to X800.

I sat back, looking at the data in mild awe. Due to the fact that I wasn't the Legendary Super Saiyan, no concrete estimates could be made on the maximum multiplier, but based on the data alone, it was more-or-less safe to say that the form could likely turn someone with a power level of just 50,000 or so into someone capable of obliterating Frieza's final form in a single hit.

God, I hoped that I'd never have to fight one of those things in real life.

Horrifying.
