Anabel
The cold darkness slowly receded from my eyes, replaced by a dull, throbbing ache in my temples. My eyelids felt heavy, like lead, as I feebly tried to open them. The room was blurry at first, but as my vision gradually cleared, my breath caught painfully in my throat.
I wasn't outside, neither was I running nor was I lying in my own bed.
And standing directly over me, looming like four massive wall-like shadows, were my brothers.
Their faces were twisted into scary masks of pure, unadulterated fury. The air in the room felt so heavy with their suffocating Alpha presence that I could barely draw a breath into my lungs.
My heart began to hammer wildly against my ribs as the horrifying realization hit me. I hadn't made it out. I had fainted.
"She's awake," Davian growled, his deep, booming voice shattering the tense silence like thunder.
