Chapter 189 - Ch-189 .Seren's inferno.

---

In the city of death, Morthveil, everyone was literally dead.

Lucifer and his soldiers had wiped out the entire population in just fourteen hours, leaving only a few thousand survivors. Now, even those had been reduced to a grotesque sludge of flesh, bones, and bodily fluids. They were dead beyond imagination—deserving what many would call a fitting end for the brutal cannibalism they had practiced. To them, human lives had been nothing more than food to extend their own miserable existences.

---

Listening to the commotion outside, Pope Rotveil stepped out onto the papal balcony of his church. The sight that greeted him was one of total annihilation. All his followers were as good as dead, their bodies already turned into a sickening sludge. The pungent smell of blood hung thick in the air, making it difficult to breathe.

Thousands of fully armored and heavily armed soldiers surrounded the church grounds. Standing directly in front of the church was a man dressed in a black robe, holding a large cleaver. Beside him lay two freshly bisected bodies of local Morthveil residents.

Upon seeing this horrific scene, Rotveil was consumed with rage. No matter what they had done, these people were his subjects. They had followed his teachings. In his eyes, they were like his own children.

This massacre was the breaking point for Rotveil. As manic and twisted as he himself might be, he could not allow others to trample over his domain as they pleased.

Still wrapped in white bandages that barely concealed his horribly rotten and decayed body, Rotveil glared down at Lucifer from above and asked in a cold yet strangely compassionate tone:

"What is the meaning of this?

Why did you kill my people?"

Lucifer, who had been staring at the two recently butchered bodies, slowly shifted his gaze upward to meet Rotveil's eyes. In a solemn, icy tone, he replied:

"You…

Why did you kill my daughter?

Why did you eat her dead body?"

Rotveil's response came without hesitation, his words sharp and stinging:

"Why shouldn't I?

Your daughter's life was insignificant, so I used it to extend my own.

Well, I don't know who your daughter was."

Rotveil's gaze remained cold as he continued, "After all, in the last 800 years, I've eaten countless children, adults, and infants. I don't remember any of them. Tell me—has anyone ever remembered the name of their food? We remember the name of a dish, but never the name of the ingredient itself."

Glaring fiercely at Rotveil, Lucifer replied:

"These people I killed today… their lives were equally insignificant in my eyes. Killing them gave me satisfaction, so I killed them.

And now, my next target is you."

Rotveil sneered. "Not gonna happen, kid.

My city may be independent from the grasp of the kingdom, but it is also protected by them.

Kid, have you heard of the Purefield Duchy? I have deep relations with them.

You can't kill me."

The moment Lucifer heard the name "Purefield," his suppressed fury erupted once again.

"After you, I'll go for the heads of the Purefield family. And after the Purefields… the Lustbound Heaven Kingdom itself."

Rotveil laughed mockingly. "Wishful dreams, you naive child.

Anyway… tell me, who are you? And who was your daughter?

Since I've eaten so many over the centuries, I really don't remember."

Lucifer's voice grew darker. "If I must introduce myself… I am the nemesis of all those who dare touch my people.

My name is Lucifer Velmora.

I hail from the Duchy of Westirifer.

I am a former member of the Purefield family you speak of.

My daughter… I named her Seren even before she was born.

"Didn't you provide Tansy herb to Christopher and Sarah?

Yes… both of them used that herb to kill my daughter while she was still a developing fetus in Sarah's womb.

Your herb worked perfectly. My unborn daughter died a brutal death inside her mother.

Then you helped Sarah push the dead fetus out of her womb… and took it away as your appetizer."

Listening to Lucifer's words, not only was Rotveil visibly shocked, but even the soldiers of Westirifer who were listening were equally stunned.

"Oh… so that's what this is about," Rotveil said with a twisted smile. "Your dead daughter was quite the delicacy.

So… it's you, Christopher's son. I never expected you to come here."

"I am not his son," Lucifer snapped. "There is no proof that he is my birth father. And even if he were, I have already severed every tie with the Purefield family.

To me, the Purefield family is my arch-enemy.

I swear on my Seren's memory that not a single soul from the Purefield family will be left breathing in this world very soon.

That includes you, Demagus Purefield… also known as Rotveil."

Lucifer's voice turned chillingly cold. "Now… enough chit-chat.

Will you come down yourself… or should I come to you?"

Rotveil smirked arrogantly. "You? Come to me?

Do you have the guts?

I am Rotveil, the King of Death, the one who has conquered death itself. I am the supreme God of this church. Do you dare?"

Lucifer's lips curled slightly. "No, I don't dare to come to you… because I've changed my mind.

What's the need to keep you alive? Why should I even take you captive?

You'd just be a waste of food."

Then Lucifer glanced at NO3005 and NO3647 and gave a simple order:

"Kill all the remaining ones. Burn this city until nothing but ash remains."

For the Viper Guards, Lucifer's orders were absolute. With swift, merciless efficiency, they began the slaughter.

Meanwhile, Lucifer glared at Rotveil one final time, stretched out his hand toward him, and cast multiple spells simultaneously:

"Curse of Blindness."

"Curse of Lethargy."

"Curse of Paralysis."

"Curse of Eternal Damnation – Avaricious Inferno."

The effects were immediate.

Standing on his own papal balcony, Rotveil suddenly lost his sight. An overwhelming fatigue consumed his body. He could no longer move a single muscle. He stood there like a lifeless statue as a crimson flame engulfed him, burning away everything—his clothes, bandages, pus, wounds, bones, and flesh alike.

At the same time, the Viper Guards finished exterminating the last remaining residents of Morthveil.

Once the city was cleared of life, Lucifer gathered all his men to one side and cast a final, devastating spell over the entire city:

"Solkoksicus Vibrante de Eternia Purge – Annihilation."

Flames of utter annihilation erupted across Morthveil. Houses, shops, human sludge, corpses, trees, shrubs, the church, and Rotveil himself were all consumed in the inferno.

In the midst of the blazing destruction, Lucifer gathered his soldiers once more and cast a teleportation spell:

"Void-Transit."

In an instant, they all returned to Tenserveria town.

After their return, Lucifer warned everyone not to disclose his secrets to anyone in the duchy. They then bathed and refreshed themselves at the shore of Lake Verdentia, rested well, and began their march back toward their capital, Serendity.
