IRONFALL ACADEMY vs BLACKRIDGE
As the buses stopped outside the gates of Ironfall Academy, the doors opened with a hiss.
Students began stepping out one after another, their shoes hitting the ground in quick succession.
Some Blackridge students immediately looked up in awe.
The academy stood tall—modern, polished, and far more refined than they had imagined. A massive yard stretched ahead, surrounded by neatly arranged plants and trees that gave the entire place a fresh, almost calming atmosphere.
Ironfall students, dressed in clean uniforms—white shirts, red ties, and blue coats—watched the newcomers closely.
Whispers spread.
Everyone knew.
Today was the tournament.
At the center of the ground, a wide 20-meter circle had already been marked. That was where the fights would take place. Around it, students gathered, forming a living boundary, eager to witness every clash.
---
Ellie stretched her arms high above her head, breathing in deeply.
Ellie: "So this is Ironfall Academy? The scent here is refreshing… great plants and trees around."
She looked around, clearly impressed.
Alan nodded slightly.
Alan: "Yeah. I heard it's more beautiful than the other two schools."
Ellie: "Yeah, only three schools in the whole city… isn't that crazy? Well, this is not an ordinary city after all."
Alan: "Hmm."
Behind them, Daniel walked alongside Daisy, both observing their surroundings.
Daniel: "This is nice. Everything here is clean and beautiful."
Daisy: "Hate to admit it… it's better than our school."
Daniel chuckled.
Daisy: "Stop it…"
She hit him lightly in a dramatic way.
---
Suddenly, familiar faces stood in their path.
Wayne. Chris. Mark.
Wayne: "So, you guys came."
Chris: "We're going to witness a great match today, thanks to that new student of your school… whatever his name was."
Mark (cutting in): "It's Alan."
He extended his hand.
Mark: "I'm Mark. You probably met me in Blackridge last time."
Alan shook his hand calmly.
Alan: "Yeah, I remember. Good luck for your fight."
Mark smirked and nodded.
Chris: "So wait… why won't he fight in the tournament?"
Wayne: "Why do you care about that? The main fight is going to be between Daniel and Mark. And besides… even Jin isn't fighting."
Chris: "He never does. Can he even fight? I've never seen him fight anyone."
They began walking past them, continuing their conversation.
Alan's eyes narrowed slightly.
Alan (thoughts): Jin…?
Ellie turned, bending slightly to look at his face.
Ellie: "Might be someone… strong in here?"
---
THE ANNOUNCEMENT
"Everyone, please gather outside the circle in the middle of the ground. Those who don't want to watch from here can go inside the classrooms and watch from the windows."
The crowd quickly shifted.
Students surrounded the circle, excitement buzzing in the air.
Participants stepped inside—one from Blackridge, one from Ironfall—round after round.
---
MEANWHILE
Lily entered the school grounds, pausing as she noticed the large crowd gathered in the center.
Lily: "What's going on…?"
She thought for a moment, then chose a different route.
Instead of joining the crowd, she walked inside the building.
Then it clicked.
Lily: "Oh yeah… the tournament was today. I was so lost in thoughts, I even forgot about it…"
She placed her backpack on her desk and walked toward the window.
Opening it, she leaned slightly forward.
From the second floor, the entire battlefield was clearly visible.
Lily: "Yeah… no studying today. I'll have to watch these boring fights all day, I guess."
She stared for a moment, scanning the fighters.
Lily: "Jin is not there… maybe he doesn't like fighting…"
Resting her arms on the window edge, she continued watching.
---
ANNOUNCER
"The startup matches are completed! Now it's time for the main fights!"
"This will be a 3 vs 3 fight!"
"The Bully Group vs The Nerdy Group!"
---
Three younger boys stepped into the circle from one side.
From the other—
Andrew, Bob, and Coner entered.
Coner: "Are we fighting them?"
Andrew: "They don't seem much."
Bob: "They are not in the starting rounds. So let's assume they are not weak."
Coner: "That's not like you—to expect someone to be strong."
Bob: "I have to… after fighting that beast that day. I just don't want to underestimate anyone again."
A brief memory of Chris in his beast mode sent a chill through them.
Andrew: "A-alright… let's just fight them."
Coner: "We won't hold back."
---
"READY? START!"
Coner dashed forward first, aiming straight for the middle boy.
But before his strike could land—
The other two boys grabbed his legs mid-charge.
The center boy stepped in instantly—
THUD!
A clean punch slammed into Coner's face, snapping his head back.
Coner: "What the—?!"
Andrew: "Coner, damn you kiddos!"
Andrew rushed in, throwing a punch—
But the two boys moved again, grabbing him from behind.
His range shortened.
His punch stopped just inches short.
Boy #3: "You can't beat us like this."
With coordinated force, the two boys lifted and flipped Andrew—
SLAM!
He crashed onto the ground.
---
Ironfall students erupted in cheers.
Blackridge students grew tense.
---
Chris clapped excitedly.
Chris: "Haha! You saw that? It was the same when I fought them. Their teamwork is the key to winning!"
Wayne: "Yeah… you're right. Blackridge can't win this round."
Mark: "You can't be sure."
---
Andrew stood again, breathing heavily, with Coner beside him.
Andrew: "Damn them… it's not possible to hit them if we fight one by one."
Suddenly—
Bob rushed forward.
No hesitation.
No plan explained.
He charged straight into them.
Bob: "Come along! This is the only way!"
Coner and Andrew exchanged confused looks—but followed.
Bob crashed into one of the boys, forcing separation.
The other two stepped back—
Right into Andrew and Coner.
Andrew: "You little brats… you're not together anymore!"
He launched a powerful kick—
The boy barely blocked, but the impact forced him back.
Boy 1: "W-we can fight on our own!"
Bob grabbed another and threw him across the ground, sliding near the first.
Bob: "Sorry… I passed out too quickly."
The tide had turned.
Now it was three separate fights.
And that was their weakness.
Bob stepped forward again—
CRACK!
A brutal punch landed straight on Boy 1's nose.
He collapsed instantly.
Coner finished the last one moments later.
Coner: "He was annoying… but we won without wasting much energy."
---
ANNOUNCER:
"The Bully Group has won this round! Now it's time for the semi-final!"
---
Ellie clapped, smiling.
Ellie: "We won this round!"
Alan nodded.
But Ellie's expression shifted.
Ellie: "But I don't want to celebrate their victory… I remember what he did in the past to you."
Alan looked at her.
Alan: "It's fine. I've already taken my revenge. I've got nothing on them."
Ellie: "S-still… I hate them."
---
ANNOUNCER:
"Oh! The next fight is between Bob… and Wayne!"
---
The Audience Started Cheering For Him
Wayne stepped forward into the circle, facing Bob.
Coner and Andrew began to walk out—
Wayne: "I have a request."
His voice wasn't loud, but it carried across the field.
Everyone paused.
Wayne slowly lifted his gaze toward the announcer.
Wayne: "I want to fight them."
A brief silence.
Then—
Wayne: "All three of them."
The air shifted.
The noise died instantly, like the entire ground had been muted.
ANNOUNCER:
"That's insane! Wayne has challenged the Bully Group… for a 3 vs 1!"
---
Andrew frowned.
Andrew: "Is he serious?"
Coner: "He thinks it's unfair if he fights just Bob?"
Bob stepped forward, cracking his neck slightly.
Bob: "Remember… let's not underestimate him. We're going all out, alright?"
Wayne stretched his arm behind his neck, completely relaxed.
Wayne: "So… who's attacking first?"
---
They didn't answer.
They moved.
Andrew attacked from the right.
Coner attacked from the left.
A perfectly timed pincer strike—
But Wayne stepped back at the last second, his body shifting just enough for both attacks to miss by inches.
Wayne: "You don't like hesitating, I guess."
Coner: "We're not here to play."
Andrew: "We're here to win."
Bob smirked behind them.
Bob: "You guys…"
---
Wayne's expression didn't change.
Unlike Chris—he wasn't excited.
He was focused.
Cold.
Wayne: "Alright… then allow me to show you what I've got."
---
He stepped in.
Fast.
He aimed straight at Coner, striking forward with a sharp palm attack.
Coner raised his guard—
THUD!
The impact pushed him back slightly.
But before Wayne could follow—
Andrew came from behind, aiming for his back.
Wayne twisted his body just in time, the attack barely grazing past him.
Wayne: "Good teamwork you've got."
---
Suddenly—
Bob appeared behind him.
Arms wrapped tight.
A crushing grip.
Wayne (thoughts): When did he—?!
Bob: "Got you."
---
Coner and Andrew didn't hesitate.
They stepped in together—
A perfectly timed double strike—
BOOM!
Both attacks landed directly on Wayne's solar plexus.
The impact forced the air out of his lungs.
Wayne choked, his body bending slightly forward.
---
The crowd erupted.
Ironfall students shouted in panic.
Blackridge students screamed in excitement.
---
Chris: "What is he doing?!"
Mark (calmly): "He's understanding… their combat style."
Chris: "What?"
Mark: "He's not going all out yet. He's figuring out their pattern."
---
Wayne exhaled sharply.
Then—
His leg moved.
Hooking behind Bob's stance—
With a sudden shift of weight—
He flipped him over.
SLAM!
Bob crashed onto the ground.
Wayne stepped back, rolling his shoulders.
Wayne: "That was a nice move."
He wiped the corner of his mouth.
Then slowly took a stance.
Wayne: "Now… I'll show respect to my fellow C-ranks."
---
Coner and Andrew charged again.
This time—
Wayne didn't block.
He moved past them.
Straight toward Bob.
---
Before Bob could fully stand—
CRACK!
Wayne's fist slammed into his nose.
Bob staggered back instantly.
Wayne: "Now I know."
He stepped in again.
Wayne: "Where the real attack comes from."
---
Andrew and Coner turned sharply.
Wayne: "You two are just distractions."
He grabbed Bob by the arm—
Flipped him again over his shoulder—
SLAM!
Then—
A quick pivot—
A kick to Coner's stomach—
Another to Andrew's ribs—
Both were sent stumbling back, clutching their bodies.
---
Coner: "Shit… we can't use our teamwork against him!"
Andrew: "Get up, Bob! We have to do this!"
---
Bob struggled to rise—
But before he could—
Wayne stepped forward—
And stomped him back down.
---
Wayne: "Stay down."
He looked down at him coldly.
Wayne: "I wonder who made you a C-rank."
A slight pause.
Wayne: "You've got strength… but no speed. No technique."
---
ANNOUNCER:
"Things are not going well for the Bully Group! Wayne has completely taken control of the fight!"
---
Andrew and Coner roared, charging again in desperation.
Coner: "We're not losing to someone like you!"
---
They attacked wildly—
But Wayne's movements had changed.
He was faster now.
Sharper.
Every motion precise.
---
He dodged Andrew's punch—
Countered with a kick straight to his face—
Turned—
Blocked Coner—
Grabbed his collar—
And slammed him into the ground.
---
Andrew rushed again—
Wayne caught him—
Lifted—
And smashed him down beside Coner.
---
THUD!
---
Both of them screamed.
Coner: "My back—!!"
Andrew: "It hurts—!!"
---
Wayne straightened up.
Adjusted his sleeve.
Then turned away.
---
Wayne: "Maybe get better first."
He began walking out of the circle.
Wayne: "You're not worthy to be my opponents."
---
The crowd exploded.
Loud.
Chaotic.
Unstoppable.
---
Ellie crossed her arms.
Ellie: "I don't like that we lost… but it was satisfying to see them getting a beating."
Alan gave a faint smile.
Alan: "You're crazy."
Ellie: "Oh… you can smile too? Hehe…"
---
Chris laughed.
Chris: "Wow Wayne, that was smooth!"
Mark: "Good job, Wayne."
Wayne: "Nothing special… but the final fight will begin soon."
Mark: "Yeah… it's going to be me vs Daniel."
---
FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT
"Ladies and gentlemen—"
"The final round of the tournament!"
"The most awaited fight of today!"
"Blackridge B-Rank… Daniel!"
"Vs!"
"Ironfall Academy B-Rank… Mark!"
"The winner… will be the strongest B-Rank in the city!"
---
Daniel stepped into the circle.
Daisy called out—
"Good luck!"
He turned, smiling slightly before facing forward.
Mark stepped in from the other side.
Both stood still.
Eyes locked.
Mark: "I was waiting for this moment."
Daniel: "Same. Let's get it, then."
Mark: "Sure."
Both took their stance.
---
ANNOUNCER:
"Let the final round…"
"BEGIN!"
---
To be continued.
