Chapter 135 - Chapter 130: Twenty Minutes

Jay's POV

"Remove the bomb."

My voice sounded steadier than I felt.

Sienna stood there at the edge of the cliff, wires strapped around her waist like they belonged there.

"Stop behaving crazy," I said. "Take it off."

She smiled faintly.

"If I can't kill you," she said quietly, "then we will all die together."

Behind me, I heard movement.

Keifer.

Yuri.

Ci-n.

Endrix.

Felix.

Rory.

Eman.

Kit.

Mayo.

Blaster.

Everyone stepped back instinctively.

Fear spreads fast. Faster than fire.

"Do you even know what you're doing?" I asked her.

"Yes," she replied calmly. "I'm going to meet my parents. And my brother."

"Stop being foolish," Keifer said sharply.

Sienna's eyes snapped to him.

"And you, Keifer…" her voice trembled, but not from fear. "I thought you would be the man in my life. But you forgot me. You went for this ugly girl instead."

My chest tightened.

Keifer didn't hesitate.

"That day I saved you," he said firmly, "I was helping. I didn't do it because I loved you."

Sienna's eyes widened slightly. "You remember me?"

"Of course I remember you," he replied. "The day Yuri and I were fighting in the rain. Your reaction when Ciel and Chan beat you up matched that day."

I looked at Keifer.

There were pieces of him I still didn't know.

He glanced at me suddenly.

"Jay. How's your hand?"

"It's… starting to get numb," I admitted.

Sienna laughed softly.

"Time for us to die."

She lifted the remote.

My heart dropped.

She threw it.

It flew past us.

Over the cliff.

Gone.

Then she turned the small screen toward us.

20:00

"You all have twenty minutes," she said calmly. "Say goodbye."

Luke immediately muttered, "Well let me call cousin. Then my aunty. Then my boss—"

"No one is going to die," I snapped.

I stepped toward Sienna.

"Remove it."

"This is how my father died," she said. "So I'll die the same way."

"Don't be stupid," I said, walking closer. "Take it off."

"Don't come closer."

I kept walking.

She stepped back.

Closer to the edge.

"Sienna, stop!" I shouted. "Don't move again or you'll fall off the cliff!"

"Drop your gun," she said. "And I'll come."

I didn't look away from her.

I dropped it.

The metal hit the ground behind me.

She shifted her weight.

Her foot slipped.

Everything slowed.

She fell backward.

I threw myself forward without thinking.

Hit the ground hard.

Pain exploded through my broken arm as I grabbed her wrist with my right hand.

My left arm screamed uselessly.

She dangled over the cliff.

If I let go, she would fall.

"Sienna!" voices screamed behind me.

"Remove the bomb!" I shouted at her, gripping tighter.

"Jay!" everyone yelled at once.

She looked up at me.

"Leave me alone," she said softly. "Let me die."

"Stop talking nonsense!" I shouted. "Help yourself up! I can't hold on for long!"

"Why are you helping me?"

"Ask those questions later!"

Ci-n and David rushed beside me, dropping flat to help.

"Sienna, give me your left hand!" David shouted.

"Come on!" I said.

"Why are you helping me?" she repeated weakly. "I ruined your group. Caused fights. Silence between you and Keifer."

"It was just an LQ," Ci-n said breathlessly.

"Huh?" Sienna frowned.

"Lovers," I said through clenched teeth.

"Quarrel," Ci-n added quickly.

"You still remember," Ci-n whispered faintly.

"Guys," David said urgently, "four minutes left!"

Four.

Minutes.

"You should go back," Sienna said quietly. "I'm going to join my family."

"Shut up," I snapped. "Just shut up."

"Jay… let me go."

"I can't."

She suddenly used her free hand to pry at my grip.

"What are you doing?!" I shouted.

"You have a phone?" she asked David.

"I have mine!"

"Go to voice record."

"Done!"

"This is not the time!" I said. "Let's get you up first!"

She ignored me.

Spoke clearly.

"If I die… use forty percent of my property for orphanages. Ten percent to the university. Twenty percent for you, JayJay. Ten percent for my workers. Ten percent to Keifer. The remaining ten percent to Section E boys."

"No one is taking your property," I said fiercely. "Because you will live."

She kept trying to loosen my grip.

Police sirens echoed in the distance.

Ambulance lights flashed faintly behind us.

Everything felt unreal.

She suddenly twisted.

My injured arm buckled from the strain.

My grip slipped.

"Sienna—!"

She broke free.

Fell.

"SIENNA!" I screamed.

She was smiling.

Smiling.

David yanked me backward hard.

"It will blow!" he shouted.

I scrambled forward again.

"Sienna!"

And then—

The world exploded.

A blinding flash.

A deafening roar.

Heat slammed into us like a wall.

I hit the ground hard.

Everything went silent.

Completely silent.

Then—

A high ringing sound filled my ears.

My vision blurred.

Smoke.

Dust.

People moving.

But no sound except that ringing.

I tried to sit up.

My body wouldn't respond.

Voices were calling.

I could see their mouths moving.

Keifer.

Yuri.

Luke.

Everyone.

Calling my name.

"Jay!"

"Jay!"

"Jay!"

But it sounded far away.

Like I was underwater.

The sky above me spun slowly.

The ringing grew louder.

Then softer.

Then—

Darkness swallowed everything.
