Lena's voice came out hoarse and broken as she cried out for what felt like the hundredth time. Her throat burned with every word, each plea scraping painfully against the dryness that had settled there after two days without food or water.
Two whole days.
She had been tied up for that long, hands bound tightly behind her back, ankles restrained, her body forced into a stiff, unmoving position that made every muscle ache. She had struggled countless times, twisting, turning, trying to loosen the ropes that cut into her skin, but it had all been in vain.
The more she struggled, the deeper the ropes dug in, leaving angry red marks and bruises behind.
Her lips were cracked, her tongue heavy, her vision occasionally blurring as weakness crept into her bones.
Hunger clawed at her insides, but it was nothing compared to the unbearable thirst. She felt like she would faint at any moment.
Every time the kidnappers came to check on her, she begged.
