"Kazuma..."
Light flickered in Mizuki Miyama's blue eyes. Her racing heart gradually calmed. Though she remained weak and slumped in her chair, unable to lift even a hand, a deep sense of relief washed over her.
How strange. It felt as if Kazuma-kun possessed some kind of magic—something that naturally put people at ease.
Mizuki Miyama pursed her lips, her gaze softening as she looked at him. She wanted to take back what she had said before. His danger was directed at others; in her heart, Kazuma had already become someone she could rely on.
"Teacher Tanabe?" Mizuki Miyama suddenly noticed a familiar face among the men lying on the ground. "Why is Teacher Tanabe here...?"
"Oh? A teacher?" Kazuma glanced down, then pressed his foot harder against Tanabe Zenjiro's face, grinding it into the floor. "So even a school teacher is involved? Miyama-san, this is why I said your school isn't very good. One scumbag after another."
Mizuki Miyama opened her mouth but found herself unable to argue. Yesterday, she had been angry when he criticized St. Peak Girls' Academy. Now, however, she couldn't deny that there were serious problems. The Student Council President felt a bitter sense of disappointment.
"Wuwuwu..."
Tanabe Zenjiro, his face covered in blood, wailed in pain and begged Tonami Yuto for help. Kazuma responded by stomping on him several more times. "Be quiet, trash."
"Teacher Tonami, you're quite cautious, aren't you? You even gathered helpers before making your move. But what's the point of gathering a group of useless trash? A pile of trash is still just trash," he said casually as he stepped over the fallen men.
Their cries only made Kazuma's smile grow brighter.
To them, however, that smile was terrifying—like that of a demon.
"Associating with trash like this makes it perfectly reasonable to call you trash too, Teacher Tonami."
Tonami Yuto's chest rose and fell violently, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Kazuma. Without warning, he grabbed a nearby chair and hurled it forward before turning and rushing toward the Miyama sisters.
Kazuma didn't move. He simply smiled and raised his arm, aiming the air cannon. "Bang..."
Boom!!!
The air cannon shattered the chair instantly and continued forward, slamming into Tonami Yuto's back. His body flew across the room like a broken kite, smashing through desks and chairs before crashing into the wall, blood spilling from his mouth.
He tried to stand, but Kazuma was already in front of him, lifting his foot. "Don't struggle, Teacher Tonami. Otherwise, you'll go from trash to a clown in my eyes."
Crack—
A bone snapped.
"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!"
The man who had seemed in control moments ago now screamed in agony. Watching from the side, Mizuki Miyama silently agreed with Kazuma's words. At this moment, Tonami Yuto was no different from the men outside.
At least in front of Kazuma, he was nothing special.
She stared at him absentmindedly. Just what kind of person was Kazuma-kun?
The distracted Student Council President didn't notice that her sister was also staring at Kazuma in a daze, wearing almost the same expression.
"What are you doing? Don't—don't come closer! It hurts! It really hurts! Ahhh! I was wrong! It's a misunderstanding—this is all a misunderstanding!"
Sweat drenched Tonami Yuto as he begged desperately for mercy. Kazuma only smiled. "Giving up already? Show a little backbone. I might think more highly of you."
He crouched down, meeting the man's furious gaze with a smile. "Besides, there's a girl here who likes you. Acting this pathetic will only ruin your image in her eyes."
"What?"
Tonami Yuto froze.
"Oh dear, you still don't know? Everything Manaka Miyama said earlier wasn't her true feelings. I just interfered a little—she was repeating my thoughts," Kazuma said with a devilish smile. "But in reality, she really does like you."
"Teacher Tonami, using a sleeping drug on a girl who likes you is a bit excessive," he continued mockingly. "She would have willingly gone to you without it. Now she's been tricked by me into revealing her true feelings."
"Ah, Teacher Tonami… how pathetic."
"..."
Tonami Yuto's eyes widened in shock. He looked up at Manaka Miyama and saw her staring at him with a complicated expression, tears still clinging to her face. "Teacher Tonami… why? Why would you do something like this...?"
The moment Tonami Yuto appeared, she had regained her senses. From then on, she watched the teacher she admired slowly reveal his true nature. She couldn't believe it, but reality left her no choice.
"Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!"
He completely broke down. At that moment, he truly collapsed. Even the pain in his body paled compared to the devastation in his heart. His glasses fell to the floor as he screamed like a madman, "I'll kill you! I'll kill you! I'll kill you!!!"
"Wah, how scary," Kazuma said casually while stepping on his face again, the sound of breaking bones echoing clearly. "Shouting like that only makes your rage look pathetic."
"I'm not convinced! I refuse to accept this!" His blood-covered face twisted in despair as he roared like a dying beast. His plans, his ambitions, and his long-held desires had all been destroyed by this brat.
The Miyama sisters, the girls of the school, and Mifuyu Yukino—the prey he had set his sights on—were now forever out of reach. Tonami Yuto could not accept reality, nor could he accept this ending.
"Ha! Don't think you've won, brat! I've got a backer. Otherwise, do you think I could get into this school? Do you think I'd dare lay a hand on these students?" Tonami Yuto opened his bloodstained mouth and let out a ragged, gloating laugh.
"At worst, it's just attempted rape. Even if the police get involved, what can they do to me?! The person backing me will step in! You're finished—!"
Kazuma gave a casual shrug. "That's what he says. So? He's got a backer, huh? Now I'm starting to feel a little worried."
A girl dressed in flashy, fashionable clothes stepped into the classroom. She glanced at Tonami Yuto, who was still ranting hysterically, and a look of disgust flickered across her face.
"There is indeed someone troublesome behind him," Izumi Nogami said calmly. "But aren't you underestimating me a little? With me here, that person wouldn't dare touch you."
Tonami Yuto's laughter cut off instantly.
"Then I'm relieved," Kazuma replied with a smile, raising his air cannon and aiming it at him. "Izumi, you'll protect me properly, right~?"
"W-Wait! What are you doing?! Don't—don't, I—!"
Boom!!!!
In the final instant before death, overwhelming regret flooded his heart. Why had he provoked this lunatic? If he had known Kazuma was such a madman—a demon in human skin—he would never have sought his own destruction.
But it was too late.
Fear and regret swallowed him whole. His breathing ceased.
The Miyama sisters covered their mouths, unable to stop themselves from retching. Even Izumi Nogami turned her face away, cold sweat soaking her back. After a moment, she looked at Kazuma with complicated eyes as she took in the brutal scene.
This guy is truly terrifying. Compared to him, I'm just playing at being ruthless.
…Good thing I didn't keep provoking him after last time.
"Are you two alright?" Kazuma put away his air cannon and looked at the sisters. "I just killed a teacher at your school. You're not going to report me, are you?"
"I'm just not used to seeing a corpse," Mizuki Miyama said, wiping the corner of her mouth. She stared at Tonami Yuto's body with unconcealed resentment. "As for reporting you—Kazuma-kun saved us. Why would we? A scumbag like him… it's better that he's gone."
Then she remembered her sister and turned toward her. "Manaka Miyama, what about you?"
Manaka Miyama's face was pale as she stared at the body. Her gaze toward Kazuma grew even more complicated. Lowering her head and clutching the hem of her clothes, she whispered, "Thank you. I won't tell anyone."
Her thoughts were still in chaos. Too much had happened in a single day. Earlier, she had inexplicably developed feelings for him and had even acted intimately in front of Teacher Tonami. Then she witnessed Tonami Yuto's true nature and nearly suffered humiliation at his hands.
And then Kazuma appeared—like a hero.
Though, compared to a hero… he was closer to a devil.
Yet strangely, she didn't feel fear. Only gratitude. How could she repay kindness with betrayal?
"It wouldn't matter even if you did expose it," Kazuma said lightly.
"Kazuma, are you underestimating me?" Izumi Nogami crossed her arms with a huff. "It's just one dead person. No one would dare trouble you."
"You're really dependable, Izumi. By the way, you arrived pretty fast. I thought you'd be a little later."
"…"
I rushed over the moment I got the call, just to make sure no one else got here first.
Izumi Nogami frowned inwardly. Why did she always feel the urge to prove herself in front of him?
Seriously.
